Burns was expected to lose against Martinez,in fact there was every likelihood he wouldn't hear the final bell,Martinez had stopped 8 of his last 10 opponents prior to fighting Burns.It also came to light afterwards that Burns had been struggling for some time to make 130lb's.
And it was Martinez hanging on and being rocked in the later rounds,shortly before handing his belt to Burns. :good

I'm not questioning Broners ability,i'm highlighting the fact that he's faced one "boxer" of late,and was beaten imo.I just couldn't see Demarco out boxing Broner,but did think he may land a few big shots on him.
I've also never said Burns would beat Broner,i said Burns is a completely different animal to Demarco,and he certainly won't stand there like a rabbit in the headlights,whilst Broner does a number on him.

 

Roman Martinez is a tomato can. He never fought any buddy of note at Junior Lightweight. He ducked Humberto Soto even though they had the same Promoter Top Rank. He was a paper champion at best.

There was no blueprint that night. What people are mistaking for flaws was just inexperience from a 22 year old fighter. Hell Broner wasn't even using the Philly Shell for that fight. He just kept his hands up. Broner has improved leaps and bounds from that fight. He's a completely different fighter now.
