Just finished my first upper power day jdsm sorted me out with. Really enjoyed it, started off thinking it was easy, it wasn't. My backs screwed though. Been over a week now and it's not much better so its hard to train lower back.
The only thing that sucked is my back is still hammered so had to keep bent over rows light and same with things like deads etc, hopefully it'll sort itself out but smalls recommended back extensions to help with recovery. I'm excited for squats tomorrow as I'm not sure what ill do for 3-5 reps as I usually work in the 10-12 range.
Even on 'hypertrophy' days I wouldn't go as high as 10-12 personally, 8 is the highest I go on squats. The higher rep ranges you have to rack the weight because you can't get enough oxygen sucked down before you've got the best stimulation you can get
Lower back injury ? It may not be so serious right now but it could get worst. Dont do any back moves or squats till it's gone ! Do your extensions and stuff for recovery !
I have squats tomorrow and I really don't want to miss them, I'll see how it feels and if its **** I'll go super light. It's my own daft fault, I made two big mistakes in not warming up and sacrificing form for weight, lesson learnt though. Edit: may switch squat to leg press and straight deads to something else. Anyone got Instagram?
