Not half as much as it annoys Froch losing to a one handed Ward in the ring

Ward is about as exciting as watching a washing machine go through a cycle. He's lame.

    Hi mate,

I don't think you can compare Floyd to Andre Ward - Floyd is the cashcow and number 1 attraction in the sport

Ward on the other hand doesn't attract anywhere near the kind of fanbase Floyd has

All of Floyd's best opponents are based in the USA

Andre Ward's best opponents are based in Europe

Fighting in Europe, they make more money than Andre does - fighting in America, they make less money

Coming to Europe, Andre would make more money

    Hi mate,

    Nice to hear from you.

Fair point regarding Floyd, but he wouldn't travel under any circumstances I don't think.

Andre's best opponents are based in Europe apart from Bute, but he's beaten them. It's admirable that Kessler and Froch want rematches, but what does Andre gain from it?

Why would Andre want to fight guys in Europe, who he's already beat pretty easily?

Like I've said previously, I think Andre will go up to 175 soon.

I'm disappointed with the Pavlik fight, but he's just won the Super Six, and beaten Dawson, so we can't be too hard on him.

I know you don't rate the Dawson win, and it was obvious that Chad was dead at the weight. But nobody made Chad do anything. He was more than happy to go to 168, and when he signed the fight, he didn't think the weight would be a problem.

At the time, that fight was seen as a 50/50 fight, and it was bigger than a Kessler or Froch rematch.

Iceman John Scully, who's a member on here, said some very intriguing things on here, regarding Chad's camp.

Like I say, after the event, we know that Chad wasn't at his best. But nobody knew that at the time the fight was signed. It seems like people are claiming that he's having easy fights, and he's ducking the hard rematches, which I think's very unfair.

Andre won the Super Six, and then went straight in against Chad. Nobody wanted to see a Froch rematch, until Froch destroyed Bute, and then he publicly staed that he wanted one.

The fairest thing to do, would be to rematch Chad at 175. Hopefully that's what will happen in the near future.

Unless Mayweather Snr can kick start Andre Direll's career, then there's nothing left at 168 for Ward, unless Bute beats Froch.

    Regards, Loudon.

    Hi mate,

I agree, but what were the circumstances when the fighters you mentioned travelled?

Ali is the exception, because he loved the fame and wanted to tour the World. He didn't have to, but he loved it. I think he once fought somebody on Boxing day at Xmas, if I'm not mistaken.

I also agree that it would improve Andre's legacy, but he doesn't need to fight in Europe at the moment.

He's beaten Kessler and Froch pretty easily, so why does he need to fight them again in Europe? He gains nothing from it.

Like I've said previously, he was lucky that Showtime hosted the Super Six and Goosen is his promoter. If Frank W or Eddie Hearn had have put it together in Britain, then Andre would have had to make the same concessions as Kessler and Froch, and travelled. But he didn't, and all of the fighters and promoters were obviously happy with the draw and the terms of the tournament.

Andre won the tournament, and the fight with Froch wasn't close. Of course Carl is going to say that he wasn't at his best etc. He's a proud man. But again why would Andre go out of his way for a rematch?

Froch is only fighting Bute again, because it was in their original contract. Carl knew he was going to fight him again in 2013, before he even trained for their first fight.

Obviously the terms of the Super Six final, were different.

    Regards, Loudon.

Thanks mate, you too. I don't think Floyd would, but he's never had any reason to either. If you look at all of Floyd's prospective opponents

    Pacquiao - fights in America
    Bradley- fights in America
    Berto - fights in America
    Guerrero - fights in America
    Martinez - fights in America

Money and the chance to become undisputed champ

Look at the fights out there for Ward

He wanted nothing to do with Bute

    Froch - Europe

    Kessler - Europe

    Nathan Cleverly - America

George Groves in the future - Europe/America

The only two big names on there that will fight in America are Groves and Cleverly, we'll see if Ward wants to face them if the time is right

Those are the only big fights for him - SMW is a weak division

Why go up to 175? There's no-one there, he had a chance to face Dawson there but didn't want to take that risk

There's Nathan Cleverly, but that's a bad styles match up for Ward, I'm not sure he'd been keen on facing Clev.

I have no problem with the Pavlik fight, it's a big name and he's tailor made for Andre. It'll be good for building a fanbase, and fun to watch.

I don't see how you can rate the Dawson win? I wasn't aware anyone saw it as 50/50, with Dawson coming down to 168 and going to Oakland, I called it to be an easy night for Ward. I've never really rated Dawson at all, he got lucky against Glen Johnson, and the guys he's faced like Tarver and Hopkins, he got them at the right time. Otherwise, he lost to Pascal, I can see Tony Bellew or Nathan Cleverly both possibly beating him in the next couple of years

I know Ward got about £1m for the Dawson fight, I think he would have gotten more to rematch Kessler or Froch in Denmark or England - those would have been bigger fights IMO

I heard Chad got stopped in sparring by Miranda? Says it all really. I can't imagine how much he regrets agreeing to fight at 168

Did anyone think Chad would be anything near the same at 168? I can't speak for everyone, but most I spoke to agreed Chad would be dead at the weight. I remember an article on the ESB front page and other sites saying Dawson looked like a drained zombie at the weigh in. I can't see how it's a great win personally? I think Froch TKO5 Bute was the far better win

Yeah, in front of a rampant pro-Duran crowd.

Ward will never fight anybody that great anywhere, much less Oakland. Please don't compare him to Ray Leonard anymore. Thanks. :hi:

He fought Froch 4000 miles from Oakland,in front of a Froch friendly crowd.

Also Ward is 28, and you have no idea where he'll fight in the future, and who he'll fight.
    So stop talking ****.
    Thanks.:hi:
