rogpmdeauz's impressive, gamboa's stagnant, lara cant seem to win against top level opposition, but he never deserves to lose either, even though people say he lost to molina, and solis is lazy.
I saw this guy the other day, Angelo Santana, and was very impressed. Fight starts at 1:17 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMocGTyLYKo[/ame]
I saw him too and was impressed as well? how could you not be? skillful guy with handspeed who can counter with power. I just hope he lives up to the cuban name. so far the only guys that have are rigondeaux and to a greater extent, gamboa, who hasnt fought in what seems like ages.
Not exactly. Even he has labeled himself as a ¨cuban who fights like a mexican¨, that's why he has an exciting style and doesn't seen to possess your stereotypical cuban traits: No running, hugging and potshotting, no abysmal punch output, and as far as we can see, no glass jaw
This one was the one I was looking for. Vicious KO. This was last Friday. Fight starts at 1:20. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx46ZpkmEYo[/ame]
come on bro. he does not fight like a stereotypical mexican fighter. he certainly does potshot. yuriorkis gamboa is not a runner or hugger, and he doesn't have a punch output that can be described as abysmal. in fact, outside of lara in consideration of at or near elite level competition, the cubans seem to get the job done, I mean knockouts and tko's, with less than stellar punch outputs.
Gamboa is an exception but Rigo, Abril and Lara fit the description specially when things arent going their way.
when are things not going rigo's way? what great number of examples do you have of fights or parts of fights not going rigo's way? pretty much all you have is lara and abril. two fighters, which isnt enough to make a blanket statement about how cubans fight.
