Also which Calzaghe fights we talking about, the worst one was Manfredo but he was getting stopped anyway, the levels between them were ridiculous. He ruined Lacy (who admittedly was massively overrated anyway) but they let him see that fight out to the end without need for stoppage. I suppose McIntyre, Pudwill and Veit were all going to do Joe if the ref hadn't stepped in? American Robbery's off my head: Bradley-Pacquaio Pacquaio-Marquez 3 Alexander-Kotelnyk Alexander-Matthysee Chavez-Whitaker Holyfield-lewis Lara-Williams Cintron-Martinez Ali-Norton 3 DLH-Sturm DLH-Trinidad Hagler-Antofermo
If by "fight like a girl", you mean land more punches while having very punches landed on him, then yes,he fought like a girl. There were times in the later rounds where Dirrell was literally teeing off on Froch!
Lmao Froch vs Dirrell the last big fight here...... some stupid **** has been said in this thread but c'mon!
Let me tell you how boxing works: you accrue more points than your opponent, you win the fight. Period.
If that were the case, fine. Reasonable minds can disagree. None of this "you gotta take it to the champ" ****ing bull****. Scoring a fight with a built-in cushion for the guy with the strap is a recipe for a robbery, which is what a lot of people think happened.
That was not a robbery though, it was a stupid scoring system which massively favours the home fighters as it is even easier to be swayed by cheers for single shots. Also it was done on median average which is ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever.
It wasn't the running that was an issue for me, it was the fact that he threw himself to the floor every time there was a chance of an exchange. I scored the fight to dirrell (pretty impossible not to) but at the same time I thought dirrell should have been warned more and deducted points and if he still continued to do it, disqualified. The ref did a really bad job that favoured dirrell so maybe the judges took it in to their own hands.
