If Joe Louis actually fought Jake Lamotta

Is Jake Lamotta allowed to use spiked cestuses?

 

Jake just wouldn't be around today like he is, or around at all if he had fought Louis.

 

He would have to have a suit of armor as well.

 

I honestly think it would harm his resume. In 1985 when Larry Holmes signed to fight Michael Spinks, the critics belittled him and suggested that perhaps Marvin Hagler be his next opponent after Spinks. The ridicule that Louis would have received would have been legendary.

 

Louis beats Lamotta badly but there have been Middleweights that could not make it there but moved up well, Bobby Cyz gave Holyfield some trouble (a Don Cockell of sorts and Jimmy Ellis lost to Carter (got dropped) and was dropped but did well at Heavyweight louis though was a case of a very great heavyweight vs a great middleweight

 

Then Lamotta would have been dismantled within 6...PERIOD!

 

As a poster's already asked.............Do you realise that Jake was a middleweight ?

i think a lot of that was because Spinks never fought a heavyweight. i think most thought Spinks was a pretty dominant light heavy but had his share of tough fights at that weight (Davis for one). Most felt Spinks was a dominant LH Champ like Hagler was at middleweight but i think the criticism came because Michael never beat a heavyweight and went strait to the Heavyweight Championship, too bad he was a bit more than Holmes bargained for but a little less than Tyson expected later on.

 

If George Foreman actually fought Prince Naseem Hamed...

 

Did Louis ever carry anyone? I cant really recall him ever taking it easy on anyone.
