That's nothing compared to the Price/Skelton fight, Skelton is old enough to be Prices Great Granddad.

Total misrepresentation of the entire discourse, and I'd expect better from you. What people said was, that yes Johnson is past it and over the hill, but that he is not shot to complete **** like Reid. What everyone on that thread arguing with you tried to point out was that 12 months ago Johnson was in a close fight with Froch. Now he has deteriorated further and should be retired. BUT he is not utterly shot to the point where he is a hazard to himself.

In marked contrast, Reid was shot to **** 5 years ago which is why he retired back then. After 4 years out he came back and has looked dire in every fight and managed to scrape a narrow win past a total journeyman and lose to a domestic (at best) level fighter.

There was simply no comparison in how badly past it Reid of 2012 is compared to Johnson of 2012.

No it's not and no it's not. Some people say a fighter is shot when they are just looking poorer and old compared to before. Let's compare Tyson in the Lewis fight and Tyson in the McBride fight. Both shot? Yep. The same? Not a ****ing chance. Tyson from the Lewis fight stops Williams and McBride easily.

An even starker comparison would be Foreman and Ali. How well would Ali have done against the Foreman who fought Moorer?

Retired is not retired either. If a guy retires after losing a close fight and then 6 months later says "Actually I made a mistake" and comes back in his early to mid 30s, that's not the same as if a guy comes back in his mid 40s having not fought in nearly a decade.

Can't disagree with Strike here. Johnson is a far more legitimate opponent than Reid was, especially when we're discussing it in terms of an opponent for a prospect as Groves is.

Dunky doesn't let logic get in the way of his selective reasoning.

Johnson would have been jobbed and Groves got the verdict on points.

It would of been alot better if johnson went out on that sweet farewell talk he gave.

He was never that big of puncher, and I believe Groves has a better chin than made out, it would have went to the scorecards, If held in Britain Groves would get the nod imo. If it's deserved is a different question all together?
