Rewatching Ward-Froch. Amazing how completely SOG schooled him.

Froch started slow but came on late, had him winning rounds 8 9 10 11 and 12 easily. 15 rounder and ward would;ve ended up like taylor.

The froch that fought bute would have put ward to sleep

 

I could only give Froch the 12th round, due to Ward running away the entire time and barely throwing a punch.

Other than that, it was a shutout. I've been meaning to rewatch this fight.

froch has alway executed that sort of gameplan against the fighters he felt would succumb to such a strategy. i'm sorry but that's nothing new.

id love to see a rematch. against ward and kessler froch had a terrible slow start, something to his credit he seems to have addressed. what sort of raving homosexual girly man wouldnt want to see a rematch? froch fights are ****ing ace, and ward is a p4p contender. i literally cant think of a way id rather spend an evening than watching a nice card leading up to the rematch.

for the record i think ward would win but it would be much closer because froch would start better. not close enough to put any doubt who is the better boxer though.

 

Froch fighting calzaghe in Nottingham will be like Lucian Bute all over again.

I was there and it was an experience. Of course i was also there for Froch vs Johnson

Froch didnt win many rounds 2-3 at most but he fought hard he tried, like Froch has in many of his fights (certainly not his last 2) he started slow vs Ward and progressively took more risks

not sure if Froch changed his out look or if being at home explains the motivation and performances but i wonder if Froch with the mentality of the Bute fight gives Ward a better day or if its just because of the opponent

I give Froch credit he got hit clean a lot and he kept on going, it was interesting seeing he British fans who came all that way and were very loud during the Johnson fight get so quiet and subdued during the Ward fight

 

I gave Froch 3 rounds tops.

Some real sense spoken here...

problem is that certain ward fans obviously don't share in your postive attitude towards the sport of boxing. Challenges are there to be taken and making excuses is not what competition is about.

 

How do you all catergorise the amount of rounds someone wins by?

7-8 Close win
9-10 Clear win
11-12 Schooling/Shut out

Exceptional performance by Ward but a dissappointing one by Froch, didnt get into the fight until the 11th. I gave him the last 2 rounds.

Im always extremely sceptical of fighters saying they fought injured/ill but obviously if as his fans on here claim Ward did fight with a broken hand ( doubt it very, very much ) then that's even more impressive.

I could see Froch making a rematch more competitive but Ward has his number. He should come over here for a scrap though and taste a proper atmosphere.
