I think his struggle with Diaz and Katsidis was due to the fighting style that both used against him. Both of them tried to close the distance on JMM, pressured him into a phone booth slugfest and JMM had to fight fire with fire in order to survive. Props to JMM for outlasting both in that kind of fight.

Pacquiao on the other hand tried didn't apply pressure the way Diaz and Katsidis did. He boxed with JMM which gave JMM enough room to utilize his technique. I personally think Pacquiao would do better and even knock out JMM if he would stick to JMM chest like a shadow and engage him in a pressured firefight. JMM will not outlast Pacquiao unlike what happened against Diaz and Katsidis

Juan looks quite roided up actually. He's starting to look like Sly Stallone.

Damn! I have tons of respect for JMM and let me say now that he has all the tools to beat Pac with or without the aid of PED's.

    But c'mon guys!
You don't suddenly bulk up LIKE THAT at 40.
Any person who have tried to build their body at some point and tried again at a later age would understand this.

But like I've said before, whatever he is on, Pac and FMJ are probably taking it too.

Pacquiao has never fought chest to chest, and on the inside, Manny is very uncomfortable. Marquez constantly took advantage of Manny by out-maneuvering him in the pocket whenever Manny fell in on him.

Juan is yoked up, looks like a miniature Wladimir Klitschko.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's on the roids, sad to say.

You've been posting in this forum for years but dont know Jack about the sport.

In his jump to lightweight, Marquez turned wrinkled in brawling to his game partly because Arum was saying Marquez was'nt marketeable enough to sell to the public again for another crack at Pacquiao.
Thats when Marquez fought more liberally and incorporated more toe to toe action.

Both Diaz and Katsidis would'nt lay a glove on Marquez if he striclty boxed them. But because the goal was to land a Pacquiao fight, he had to change his style to draw attention to himself.

When you're a great like Marquez, you gauge what your opponent can do and figure out what risks you can take.
Had Marquez fought Pacquiao with the mindset he did Diaz and Kats, he loses against him.

Its not a physical transformation that resulted in Marquez dominating Pacquiao in fight 3, it was a mental transformation more to look out to box and not get caught up in prolonged exchanges.

The only way Marquez knocks out Manny Pacquiao is if Pacquiao himself brings it. Everytime Pacquiao has, Marquez has forced Pacquiao to go timid and not let his hands go with force and power.

If in the face of getting repeatedly hammered with straight rights (which has happened in each of the 3 fights) Pacquiao decides he's forcing the issue anyways, thats Marquez only realistic chance to score a KO.

Does'nt look much different from his Diaz fight.

The big difference was in the ring the night of the fight, you could see some flab on Marquez. Despite his intense training, Marquez carries with him some flab at welter that Pacquiao does not.

Even in Marquez current pictures you can see he has a bit of a stomach underneath his shirt, the product of eating more. Unlike Pacquiao, his weight is not all lean muscle mass.

It is hillarious is'nt it all these *******s accusing Marquez of roiding when not that long ago they were tearing Mayweather to shreds for asking Pacquiao to take a PED test!:nut

I've said this for years, Marquez vs Pacquiao with legit PED testing and the result would be Marquez KO Pacquiao before the late rounds arrive.:bbb

It should be noted, and people are probably forgetting. You get a pump from training, everyone gets it (which will make his muscles seem bigger than when not warm/working). Marquez is looking in great shape, but people easily jump to conclusions. Plenty of examples.

I'm no expert on roids, but i am more of the opinion that roids, are more placebo than the real thing. If anything, PEDS accomplishes more on the fighter's psyche (thinking he has some guaranteed advantage over his opponent thus boosting/enhancing his performance on the psychological level) than it does to the actual performance itself.

On that vein, fighters who have a high sense of insecurity, psycho-spiritual instability, utter lack of self-confidence, (Floyd? :hey) and the likes--thus have the greater likelihood and the more inclination to use PEDS than anyone...

    Just my thoughts though. :conf

Well noted (about JMM going on to exceed Pac in bulk and size).

But really, it's just illustrating a difference in how both have built their bodies in the move up. Pac's body is probably more athletic and allows him to keep the same frame, and JMM's has just reacted differently (or he's probably done more weight training).
