I hope everyone is intelligent enough to realize every single word pee pee has posted concerning this subject is a complete fabrication. Not one single iota of truth.

What a load of shite! Walcott didn't know what to do and had to listen to Nat Fleischer to stop the fight. Next you'll be saying Fleischer was part of it aswell LOL!

Jersey Joe Walcott was a 'competent referee'.

Just 'not' on that Tuesday Night in Lewiston, Maine.

He didn't even look to locate the Official Round Time-Keeper,
and Official Knockdown Time-Keeper during pre-fight instructions.

Why didn't Walcott know what to do?

Do you honestly think he wasn't aware of the neutral corner rule and how to apply it?

That's like a carpenter not knowing what a hammer is or a baker not knowing what flour is.

How stupid do you think Walcott was?

    Jersey Joe Walcott,

Had previously Referee'd the April 10, 1965 bout between
Carlos Ortiz vs. Ismael Laguna fight in Panama.

No complaints, as he performed well.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, May 19, 1965 (Augusta, Maine)

One-week before the Clay - Liston II bout, The State of Maine Boxing
Commission had 'not' made a public announcement of the fight referee.

Jersey Joe Walocott stated, that he was being considered, and thought
it would be an honor to be the Referee in a Heavyweight Championship bout.

    Dan Florio,

'Floyd had such pain in his back, and this guy Clay was hitting him
with everything. And Floyd was still standing, begging Clay to knock
him down. But Clay couldn't, because he really had no power'.

'Gino felt bad for Floyd, but he started laughing at Clay from Ringside,
when he couldn't drop Floyd. That got Clay really mad, you could see
he was frustrated that he couldn't drop Floyd.'

I wasn't even sure that the quotes in this thread were fake - they're not as obviously phoney as a lot of your stuff. But as usual, when you're challenged you're unable to back up your claims with any evidence, so you just bluster.

    Dan Florio,

'Based upon what Cassius 'supposedly' did to Sonny Liston in Maine, I figured Floyd
to get 'bombed out' in the 1st-Round'.

'Then Clay played it up, and it was obvious he was going to try to extend the fight a
few rounds. But in Rounds 3 thru 6, he hit Floyd with everything he had, and Floyd
    was still standing.'

'Gino said to me, ****ing Sonny Liston. I didn't have to ask, I knew what he meant,'
