Most people will give this to george, but george ducked earnie shavers and struggled almost gambled his consciousness vs other heavy hitting fighters. He dosnt fire straight punches like Earnie does, and has less reach, less speed, and Earnie could definitely put him away with just 1 punch, he had a good chin but it wasnt great.

George is considered a higher ranked fighter and is stronger in the clinch, heavier taller, and could certainly KO Earnie shavers with just one punch also.

Endurance wont be a factor in this match up.

Foreman would win this by knockout in about 3.

I've always like George in this fight. Two fisted attack, better chin, and more proven against the best.

George, Earnie couldn't handle guys with good hard jabs and had a very weak chin Foreman actually had a decent chin, and Foreman had more punches that were harder Shavers had a great right but george had a great jab a great hook a great uppercut and Shavers defence wasn't there either.

interesting for a guy that a straight ahead puncher could not beat,
foreman sure wasnt to keen on facing shavers or williams in his youth

    and when he got older
he wasnt too keen on facing
    bruno,ruddock,dokes etc

People always say Foreman ducked this and that. BS. Foreman often would have chosen to not fight certian people but if he had to he would.

Foreman didnt want to fight Frazier or Norton yet he did and he ****ed em both. Foreman will smack Shavers in exactly 3 rounds.

George had a great chin! Decent?
48 year old Foreman wasnt even hurt by prime Briggs.
Took flush shots from Holyfield,Moorer,Cooper,Alex Stewart etc
He survived Frazier,Lyle etc. Foreman was only stopped once and that was Ali. It was stamina that did him in,not power.

He fought Williams at an exhibition and said Williams was one of the hardest punchers he fought they obviously weren't playing in there

And there's no way Shavers could have beaten George coming straight on

A prime for prime hypothetical match up featuring the Foreman of 1973-74 v Shavers of 1977 would result in an action packed bout, short and sweet, with Foreman winning in around four stanzas. George was a murderous hitter with BOTH hands,as opposed to Earnie's chief weapon being his right. Foreman could also take a big shot better than Shavers.

A real time fight between the two, post Zaire, would be a 50-50 pick 'em scenario. I'd still favour Foreman, though, owing to his better chin.

Foreman buries Shavers under a ton of heavy leather in round 2.

A very obvious Foreman win. T.K.O. in 2.
