You think if you went for a job with birds eye and you couldn't name any of their products, didn't even have the decency to do a little bit of research, they would give you the job? His first love is rugby union, the enemy of league. How will he have a vision to expand league which will be at the expense of the sport he loves? He has probably given out of his own pocket to support union causes. This is cultural cringe and all this guy is after is a pay check. The first thing a cashed up nrl does is give their money to a union guy. It's dumb.

Hi sir, maybe you don't understand cultural cringe but it means when you feel your culture is inferior to the culture of another. Examples are when Australia first got TV they had presenters with English accents or they used to import English or American actors when they made Aussie films. It's the belief that your own kind aren't good enough. I would be upset if they got a guy with AFL or Rugby Union or soccer background. It's been done before and it's a failed experiment. They have no feeling for the game or what should be done with it and they will look at the bottom line to justify their position over what benefits the game in the long run. It's a dumb decision.
