Don't be so naive. Liston was the mob's fighter. He was owned by them and they killed him.

    McVey,

You little snot nose punk, showing pictures of your mother again, without
    her permission.

    You little misinformed masturbator.

    A) Muhammad Ali wanted $1,000,000 from Bob Arum, to retire in 1979.
    B) Bob Arum offered up $250,000 to 'get rid of Ali'.
    C) Bob Arum upped his offer to $300,000
    D) Muhammad Ali lowered his demand to $500,000
    E) Bob Arum held firm on $300,000
    F) In the end, Bob Arum finally gave Muhammad Ali $400,000 to go away

I never said mobsters didn't own him. But not all of Liston's management were mobsters. Also, "the mob" or "the mafia" as a whole had very little interest in Sonny Liston. Or do you think the bosses of the big families called meetings to discuss Liston's career ?

Well, why claim to know Senor Pepe's theory and agenda without having even read what he has been saying ?
You're criticizing something you refuse to read.
Yes, he's made a thousand threads saying the same thing, and you appear in most of them, yet you still haven't grasped the basics of what he's been saying re: Liston-Clay alleged fix.

    Mr. Un,,,,,,,

Correct and right to the point.

Whether Sonny Liston could have defeated Cassius Clay in a 100% legitimate
15-Round Heavyweight bout was and is 'not' the issue.

The 'back room decicions' were based upon attempting to make the bouts look
    legitimate, but with controversy.

    Ther 'players' - Inter-Continental-Promotions, T-N-T Network, Sports-Vision, Inc.
and the Louisville Sponsoring Group made 'all' the decisions, before the both bouts took place.

If Ingemar Johansson didn't have 'tax implications', it would have been 'INGO' who
fought Sonny Liston, with the same results, setting up a rematch.

    Earl Atley,

    A 26 year-old Pennsylvania Heavyweight, at 6' 1" 202 lbs. - with a
    record of 8-19-2 (6 KO's).

'I've sparred with many of the Top Heavyweights, and Sonny was the best by
far. He was very light on his feet, and could punch as long as he wanted to.
He was strongest guy I had ever gotten in the ring with.'

"I am a professional sparring partner by trade, and I know what to look for
in a fighter. Cassius was good when I was with him in early-1963, but Sonny
was so much better than Clay, even when he was older when I sparred with
    him in 1964 and 1965.'

'For Sonny to fall down like that in Maine. Completely ridiculous. Cassius can't
    punch.'

'That punch and fall was the most scripted performance I ever saw.'

'I guarantee, that Cassius Clay will never ever knockout anybody in One-Round,
and with One-Punch ever again in a real fght.'

"There was nothing suspicious about it as far as I'm concerned," said George Russo chairman of the Maine State Boxing Commission. "The only thing is that it ended too soon. The people didn't get their money's worth."

"I'm just too fast for everyone. My punches just blur. I've got the bear, now I'll get the hare"

If we can take a break from the insults, whether they are well-deserved or not, to focus on the actual content of what is being posted by Pepe'....

He is saying that Liston's handlers originally sighted Ingo as the one whom they were going to work with instead of Ali with the exact same proposed script. (No Ali hate there)

He also says that whether Clay could have truly beaten Liston in a legit fight is irrelevant to the issue of the fix as well. (No Ali hate there either)
