It was Rickys reaction after the fight that worried me most. He was ridiculously hard on himself, which he always has been
I have limited sympathy for the multi-millionaire Ricky Hatton. Yes, he may have problems and he may be suffering from depression, but so are millions of others. He can afford the best counselling, he can move away from Manchester and start a new life, he can get involved in making others' lives better rather than focusing solely on his own misery. To say that Dempsey was being unfair somehow is missing the point. Ricky made a good stack of money from this comeback. If he'd pulled out a points win we wouldn't have heard any of this depression spiel. If you choose to live in the spotlight, you need to be comfortable with its glare.
yeah, he needs to get out of manchester, why the **** would anyone CHOOSE to live in that dump Buy and run a bar in the bahamas ricky somewhere with a nice view like this This content is protected
I think any decent sparring would of told him and his camp that it as was over and silly to come back.
.....he was gutted, rightly so but hard on himself?:thinkhe thought he was five rounds or so up,still not once did he mention his lack of defence,to gt stopped by a wicked body shot was...:think ironic.hes ****in minted so why all the pity on here.he went out going forward an swinging, like a true fighter even tho I went off him years ago,an exciting fighter.
You can have all the money in the world but depression doesn't discriminate... Its not as simple as going home checking his bank balance and saying "Oh well", I'd question if he was ever mentally fit to go back in the ring in the first place. As some others have mentioned when he kept saying "I'm not a failure, I'm not a failure" then bursting into tears spoke volumes. Its the same as how he kept saying he was 4 or 5 rounds up constantly reassuring himself rather than straight up accepting defeat, its the same thing he did after Pacquiao briefly knocked him into another dimension.
I thought it was hilarious. Especially watching it live round a mates house (did I **** pay towards that **** card) who was your typical stereotype Hatton nuthugger. The look on his face when Hatton got banjoed again was priceless. I don't think I've ever seen a man get so upset with what happened to some ***** on the telly who he didn't even personally know.
I was expecting a real horror show but Ricky surprised me with how well he did for the 1st 4 or 5 rounds. He was never going to be close to his prime but he was sharper & more resolute than I was expecting. Boxing is a cruel & brutal sport, it was sad to see Hatton go out like that. I think the primary motivation for his comeback was Hatton promotion not having a tv deal, it will be interesting to see if his stable stay active after last nights fight or face another long spell of inactivity.
Unlucky Ricky Hatton - You tried and you couldn't handle it, boxing's a hard sport, it should make you realize what a true champ you was back in the day !! You would have blasted him into space in your prime.. Nothing lasts forever rick !! Continue keeping in shape, and help other young fighters come through the ranks. Boxing's obviously part of your being !! God bless you rick, there's no shame at all.......
his camp need a ****ing good hard look at themselves no way should hatton have been allowed any where near a ring
