My ESB heart was officially shattered that night in Manchester.:!:
The better fighter won on the night, i would never complain otherwise unlike tonnes of Tszyu supporters since.:|
I'm only here for a laugh now.

This is what I am talking about.

First class example of British delusion at its finest.

I'd tend to favour a prime Tszyu over Hatton, but there's no doubt that Tszyu is overrated. He was at the time, and it seems that he's still being overrated to this day.A very good elite fighter in his day,but certainly not a truly great one.

Tszyu was a great fighter but come on, he looked great against Sharmba Mitchell who was a solid opponent at the time. He lost fair and square to Hatton. You can't say Tszyu was too old et.

There was only 3 minutes left and he was happy to quit. If that had been Hatton he would still getting crucified on here. Let's face it he gets crucified on here anyway.

I wouldnt say it was fair at all , the amount of fouling ricky was allowed to get away with was insane . Kosta deserved far more respect than the official gave him , im not saying the result would of been different but for a world title fight it didn't sit right with me..

Citing age when discussing different fighters is rather meaningless.

Theres a huge difference in contexts between Kostya when he lost to Hatton, and Hatton tonight, to the point where bringing age into it is pointless.

you can go through fighters in the last 20 years saying "in his prime he would have done this" and this fighter "would have done that" but at the end of the day, the fight/s happened when it happened....get over it! how many bums can you say tyson fought? you can say "prime shane mosley or marquez would have put up a better fight against mayweather" or whatever crap you want to yap on about. it's kind of pointless because they didn't face each other in their primes, so no point talking about it.

I know you are only saying this because you are an attention ***** and want to **** people off.

But you know you're wrong. Hatton gets stopped early against a prime Kostya

Guys never want to give a guy credit for a win unless he somehow managed to beat a guy on the night of his best victory when he is exactly 25. This guy was too green, this guy was past prime, this guy had an off night. Regardless of Tzyu's age he was the reigning champ, a heavy favorite, and a top p4p guy at the time.

The officiating in that bout was terrible though

7 years ago Hatton was feasting on an 35 yr old Tsyzu. Hatton's time was up at 31 after the brutal KO loss to Manny. I find it difficult to empathize with someone indulging in destructive self-pity.
