I remember seeing Hatton in-between fights when he was commentating on SKY and even HIS HANDS were swollen due to how fat he was!

Froch and Mayweather are perfect examples of how to live like an athlete.

I don't think it would matter that much. Hatton still would have that quitter attitude where he would also just give up like he did last night when getting his head boxed off. You can't fix that in the GYM.

Agreed, he has actually filled out and become even more ripped. He admits that he is beating his time and always looking to improve his lifestyle. He barely drinks anymore and I remember reading he stopped doing little things that could remotely affect his boxing longevity.

I don't think he could have been much more to be honest. His style was quite limited, and I think he got as far as he could with it.

Certainly wouldn't have beaten mayweather or that version of Pac either way.

Come on, he was utterly ****ed from round 5 on and that body shot left him in agony. Tried to put on a straight face for the ref in case he could get up but watch him a few seconds after the count. Good that he didn't get KOd again but he still took far too much damage last night.

Which is why you have young heavyweights at 30 or retired lighter weight fighters in their late 20s.

He definitely could have been a better fighter if he'd dedicated himself more.

But that's his mentality and your mental setup is almost as intrinsic as, say, hand speed. Easy to say change/improve it, harder to do.

Not sure his career could have gone much better though, he still achieved a ton.

David Haye is also only 2 years younger than Ricky Hatton.
