So what do y'all say? Personally, although he's only fought at 147 twice, i think he's proven himself as a bona fide welterweight contender. He's mentally together, very tough, solid chin, good technical fighter, can fight at a distance and in the trenches, and let's not forget he'll have a 6 year age advantage. At the earliest point at which this fight can be made, Floyd will be 36 going up against a guy in his prime with all the momentum in the world!

To be honest, the 147 division is so weak right now that yes he is.

Appart from Pac, there is no one else

Guerrero is the man to face Mayweather without a shadow of a doubt mainly b'cause he is going after that goal and being interim Champion, he's naturally the mandatory challenger for the WBC Champion. And I believe Robert is that guy who will give problems to Floyd even though he's well north of the borderline and stll just fought twice at 147. Basically, Robert Guerrero is an experienced fighter still on the rise and who wouldn't run into foolish risks against Mayweather and that is the biggest threat... Robert is confident and at the same time realistic! I believe Mayweather would win it right now but not without a full work night and putting everything on that table.

Which time? Margarito beat Cintron's ass twice during that era's WW scene.

    no idea
just remember that after margarito beat cintron there was a mass calling out for floyd to fight margo - i think margo barged in on a floyd media conference a couple of weeks after this though

Well, it's either him or Bradley I suppose. Not much else there. Neither would trouble Mayweather a lot.

Deserving? WTF are you guys still on this **** for? Did a LW in JMM deserve a shot? Did Victor ****in Ortiz DESERVE a shot? Who else is there for Floyd to fight that you guys think DESERVE a fight? Floyd needs to fight either Pac or Martinez, or ****in retire. If you guys don't think Ghost is a worthy opponent, then I'm sure you would think Alvarez is not worthy either.

We might be creating a bad precedent that beating Berto gets you a shot at Floyd

I think he needs one more solid win, but I wouldnt mind seeing it now

Guerrero needs to fight one more legit fighter before taking on a Mayweather or Pacquiao. Victor Ortiz or Bradley would be great fights to see him in. If Mayweather isn't too old, he should be able to give Guerrero a beating. He (Guerrero) can't fight that type of fight against Mayweather or for that matter Broner. Both guys have super reflexes, and IMO would box Guerrero's ears off. I would like to see a rematch vs Berto.

I wouldn't mind it, but I don't see what he's done to deserve it. Beating Berto now isn't as amazing a feat as it was when Ortiz did it, and the way Ortiz did it showed a tenacity that could somewhat translate into success against Floyd, given his hand speed, power, aggression, will to take punches and keep going, size, foot speed, etc. Guerrero just pressed up against Berto and mauled him in a way that would do nothing for him against Floyd.
