Holmes is a far better fighter. Not close technically. Walking statue vs a truly great boxer. I don't see anyone in the caliber of Shavers or Norton on Wlads resume. Three times.....THREE times Wlad was knocked out falling in sections onto the ring canvas. These were not one time occurrences but three times against blah competition. Not only did three non entities destroy him but it was obvious Wlad wanted out of there. His chin is beyond questionable and I seriously question his courage and heart in a fight against a powerhouse like Holmes. Holmes will outmaneuver and with this out jab Wlad. Once this happens Wlad has no plan B and would be slowly beaten down, bloodied and koed....falling in sections just like he did in his other 3 ko losses. No one beat or stopped Holmes in his prime and he was hit with ko blows and recovered to win over and over again. He fought grueling bouts with Norton and Cooney with no signs of giving up or folding when hit hard. So of course Holmes beat Wlad. No contest.
I guess you are going for the "last word wins the argument" approach... tho some new material would be nice.
Yeah I cba. I've already replied to that post and it just leads back to the same stuff again. Very boring.
The truth is holmes is overrated due to revisionism. No one gave a crap about him when he was an acive fighter, its unfortunate, but its also the truth. This is a 50/50 fight, holmes prolly wouldnt even fight wlad, he ducked so many fighters from his own era.
Holmes had no power, was almost never in great shape come fight night, fought in the worst era of heavy weight history and got his ass kicked 2x by a light heavyweight.
Klitschko would brutally knock out the overrated Larry smarry Holmes. Wladimir Jab is the greatest of all time, his right hand is harder than shavers, his left hook is like Robinson's. He has the sublime footwork of Cassius Clay the chin of Oliver McCall and the will of Joe Frazier. If the Klitschko's were black and American you would be calling them ATG's and they would be earning over 300 million a year. This content is protected
I agree with those who say that Wlad would have an excellent chance of winning this.. But your post is overly simplistic and in some ways just plain crap.
This is a 50/50 fight. Both highly skilled (anyone who claims Wlad is not a skilled boxer is a self-proclaimed imbecile), dominant in their eras and able to enforce their style of fight. The only wrong answer is an emphatic one either way. I pick Wlad today, but could pick Larry tomorrow. Both greats.
These match-up threads are really getting stale for me. Probably the least interesting aspect of this forum. When you are talking about great, dominant fighters who occupy the same division, it's almost always a toss-up.
