Yeah, what Mitchell really needs is a even worse chin. You know that he was 275 in his football days?

Mitchell's problem wasn't that he was stationary. His mistake was he went in stumbling forward in a wild manner trying to attack Banks. Mitchell was open for counters and paid dearly for it.

He'd have to either get lucky with an early big hand that pummels Banks or work on his feinting and hand speed. He has to be the first to land when he attacks, otherwise he will hit the floor again like an amateur.

    Then he was grossly overweight.

Even more so now for a cardio intensive sport like boxing you can tell hes too heavy.

Hey, imagine if he lost weight, became lighter on his feet and moved his head - that would be the best improvement his chin could make!

This guy is not going anywhere and I feel bad about it because it's ppl like him boxing needs, I mean, a pro footballer wouldn't be bad for attracting new fans.... just not him, I don't see him making it to the top level in this sport, actually I don't see him at the NEXT level of this sport!!

Not a bad move by Mitchell. If he wins he is back in the mix, with some good paydays. If he fights under control he will have a chance.

If he loses he can become a gatekeeper.

I agree 100% with this staement. I was at the fight and another person next to me in the crowd said the same thing. I told him I thought I was the only one that felt this way.

Anyway, after I upload my videos from the fight on youtube, ill post here. I ran into Broner too. But Ill explain everything with videos and and a pic that my friend/business consultant took with Seth in the hotel after fight.

This is far worse for Mitchell than it is for Banks. Banks is not the most talented, but he is an intelligent fighter, why else would Wlad have him in his corner? He spent a lot of time learning from Steward (RIP) and Wlad has said that Banks's knowledge of fight tactics and gameplans really impresses him.

Mitchell is the polar opposite, a crude ex-footballer entirely reliant on his power. He won't be able to make the neccesary changes to his game in time for this fight, Banks will be one step ahead. I predict another early KO for Banks.

If I were Mitchell, I would go for another big puncher lacking in skill to get back on track. Someone like Abdusalamov will think he can take Mitchell and would be willing to fight. Mitchell came out on top in his crude shootout with Witherspoon and should come out on top against a guy dropped by shot McCline last time out. So overall I think Mitchell has made a very foolish decision here.

One thing about Banks though - he does tire from the mid rounds onwards, so if Mitchell tightens up defensively and withstands the early onslaught, he could stop Banks late. But that's a big if. :good

I think a lot of posters on this site are full of ****. After finally having watched the fight, Seth didn't really do anything wrong. He got caught, did not know how to hold, and lost.

But he didn't look too bad at all. He's got a good jab. His hands are not slow and his work to the body remains impressive. He's hell of a lot less one-dimensional than he's given credit for. Still, I worry about his chin, which isn't made of iron, that's for sure.

It's a bold and gutsy move. But I wouldn't be surprised if he took the rematch. I think he's just got that bloody-mindedness about him.

I like this move from Mitchell. If he beats Banks he's right back on track and, with a few adjustments, I think he could win the rematch.

Its a real good fight for Banks, since he's probably not fighting a Klitschko. Mitchell would get him back on HBO and there's not many other fights out there that can do that for Banks.

Golovkin was already proven world class player, say like Povetkin at HW. If Mitchell
gets beaten by Fury, Jennings or Boytsov (who never really proved themselves yet)
this mean he ain't a contender, neither he has even a slight chance to be one of them.
Kinda poor man version of Chisora or even poorer version of Arreola.

Mitchell took a competitive way too soon, I warned everyone about rushing this kid and ruining him and now I'm afraid it's too late. He shouldn't have fought Banks for another 3 years or so.

  13. Mitchell needs to prepare himself mentally for a 12 rounds fight. Forget going for the KO just so the next best thing comes in your career.

Settle down, pick your shots and take your time to break the guy down. If the KO comes then awesome, that's great - just don't force it.

HOWEVER, I don't know how good Mitchells stamina really is so they have to work on that if he's lacking on that department. The guy has to be patient.

I agree. Mitchell got confused and didn't know how to cover or hold to weather the storm. Underestimating Banks didn't help either. I'm not sure if he even had a gameplan other than seek & destroy.

But imho if he is serious about the sport the first things he should work on are balance and movement. He is very poor in these departments.

Not sure that rematch is a smart move though. For Banks might be just too skilled and too experienced.

Mitchell does not have "it" and it's that simple.

He started far too late in life to become anything close to World level in boxing.
