Berto has awful balance and his feet are like two cement blocks rooted to the floor. He's not slick. Never was.

He indeed does have terrible balance, and I think it's a lot to do body imbalance. He's hugely stocky on his upper torso and his legs are absolute sticks.

Then again, he probably only watched how Broner had success with DeMarco and started working on it in the last week.

Berto's shitty trainer -"Yo Berto I got a great idea to fix your garbage defense. I'm gon teach you the shoulder roll and you'll be slick"

Berto -"Uh are you sure I can pull it off and do you know how to teach it?"

BST -"Well I've looked at a few Mayweather fights, so I think I got it down. But you're a beast bro. You're a beast. You can do it"

It's a lot harder than it looks. Reminds me of cocky amateurs thinking they are RJJ with their lead hand at the floor and getting K.O'd

    Really? Blaming Berto's trainer?

If you actually listened to what he was saying in the corner, he was spot on, but Berto was crying instead and looking at his ******ed brother, not listening to a thing his trainer was saying.

no matter how slick you are shoulder roll with a good southpaw dont work.

Hence mayweather never fancied fighting a midget.

no I'm blaming everybody, but his trainer does ****ing suck. Like really, really bad. He's up there with Anne Woulfe and George Peterson.

Harder than it looks? Yes your right... since balance, timing and footwork are very important with it

But Berto did a terrible job... I shoulder roll better

Berto suddenly expected with a couple weeks practice he'd be able to use it against southpaw Robert? lmao.

Asking to get whacked with some straight lefts.

Made the fight really... Reason he got in the position to get knocked down

conspiracy theory: Berto got payed off to shoulder roll in practice for Guerrero's hopefull Mayweather clash.

    This thread

It just shows how cocky Berto was coming to the fight

¨**** yeah i got this, dude from lower division cant hurt me so imma gonna practice this new shoulder roll thingy and look kewl like Money and that Broner guy¨

sadly, this is probably the last time we'll see the Berto shoulder roll

too bad, because I could use a few laughs more in the future :yep

Funny how the prevoisly rather unskilled Maidana did a much much better job better at shoulder rolling vs Karass

    - although not in the stance he did roll alot of punches and even blocked some with his shoulder.

Everybody go watch Maidana vs Karass and be amazed at how much Maidana has learn't with Garcia :good

He always had horrible foot work ..Surprised that he hasn't tried to improve on that .

True. But Maidana never came out in that Philly shell stance like Berto did; he used it when JSK had him pinned on the ropes and deflected some punishment while turning his man. :thumbsup
