can also add every trainer that reckons their boxer is in the best shape ever when its clear from public workouts that they are absolutely **** and on fight night they get owned i dont know why coaches do that, is it because they are genuinely thick and deluded or just being paid to do so i think steward and roach are the only ones ive ever heard state the truth about training, or that their boxer isnt as good this time out etc, coincidently they are two of the best
How some was as a fighter has nothing to do with how they are as a trainer, look at Freddie Roche! Who out of Arnies stable fights like he did?
Perhaps it will, but I've got my reservations. Heffron fought like a numpty against McDonagh.... I was at ringside. Kill or be killed stuff, Arnie was giving him the right advice and he was just forgetting it as soon as the bell went. I've already text Arnie asking for a betting tip :yep
Can't argue with you there Ron didn't look great but he wasn't really motivated, he is for tomorrow and hopefully he'll show what he's capable of!
Out of the famous trainers, I think the Ingles are positively awful but have been blessed with some of the most talented fighters our country has ever produced.
Your right Arnie was all aggression as a fighter, that's why he's now become one of the best technical coach's about its called experience my friend, just look how Butler and ***in box :good
and the same ***** who didnt have the bollocks to tell ricky hatton that he hasnt got it anymore and should have told him to pull out. instead he just though of himself and let him go through with it, hatton needed someone around him strong enough to tell him the truth, thats were Shannon should have, but he didnt care about what it would do to Hatton. so yes that man who got matty a world totle shot
Ricky was winning the fight on Saturday and was doing well, the loss was nothing to do with Shannons advice.
going well? what figt were you watching? he was terrible and should not have been anywhere near the ring. his timing, reflexes everything was no were to be seen and Shannon would have known this from his sparring. To go ahead with that fight was a disgrace, money talks though
Also Shannon said he was going to tell him after the fight that he shouldn't fight again regardless of the result. If he was of that opinion he shouldn't have let him get in the ring in the first place
