If he turned up at the Mayweather gym and a video was posted of Floyd and him talking, laughing etc and then Floyd saying GGG is a beast, the real deal etc, BBalchump / bladegunner / Prince etc would volunteer to lick the sweat of his groins after a pad session.

Both about GGG being so good and GGG being so over rated.

The facts are that he heas beaten everyone put in front of him.
He has a high percentage rate for ko, and he demolished a legitamet top tier boxer in Proksa who recently gave sebastian Sylvester a retirement beating.

To say he would beat Chavez Junior or Martinez is opinion. Equally, to say Martinez/Chavez/Canelo/Cotto would beat him is equally just peoples opinions.

To give the guy credit, he is trying tp prove our collective opions either right or wrong. We like boxers who make fights happen. This guy wants to fight the best. Nobody seems to want to fight him in the top 10 at the moment. Fernando Guerero was decent prospect 2 years ago then had a shock loss. He has built himself back up now and is willing to take the risk. If he beats Guererro in good fashino similar to the way he did Proksa HBO will have him out again in no time. Then he will be a name, and a more rewarding type of fighter for the rest in the division.

Patience is required from people here.

 

Sure he beats shot Mosley, 140lbs Lopez and he is going to beat everybodyatsch Canelo has all the potential on the worl but lets wait until he fights a fight with at least 10% chance for his opponent...meaning not shot fighters or fighters 2 divisions under his.

How can you really power by looking? I think it is very difficult because most boxers would cause the same sound and indentation on the pad. Perhaps only the holder of the pads will know best.

 

I think GGG is talented and does have good power. I think he deserves his spot at number 3 in the division behind Geale who unified 2 titles and Sergio the obvious champ. I think GGG would beat fighters like Macklin, Geale, Sturm and even Kid Chocolate, but he'd get stopped by Sergio.

I do get a little irked by the many fans of his trying to hype him up to be this super legendary fighter that would KO everybody from 154 to 168 including Ward or Froch.

Golovkin: Yes, you can say like that. First of all, I want to thank my coach. He has a good sports centre in Big Bear Lake, California. Yes, Saul Alvarez came to us 3 times in a row. We trained together in the same gym. We worked together. Yes, you know, he's promising young boxer with a good sporty skills. He's very promising.

Reporter: We would remind you that before to fight with Pirog, Ishida also sparred with Canelo. And everybody said that he got knocked out from Canelo. All of his opponents fall down, because it's impossible to be competitive against Canelo. You sparred with him, describe us, how was it? Is he really so strong? How do you rate him as a potential rival in the future?

Golovkin: I don't wanna jump the gun. It's very difficult to compare. we are in different weight classes. Ok, let's say he's strong enough for middleweight division. Against the background of other Junior Middleweights he looks younger, but like all boxers he has his strengths and weaknesses, which I saw. We had been working for 1,5 months, one-on-one, and you know he has his breaches and problems. It's not ease as it seems. People say that every his sparring opponents fall down? No, I wouldn't agree with that. I know that Ishida and Canelo have the same manager, so I heard that Saul knocked him out 2 times very badly and to be honest, I didn't expect that he could show something against Pirog. I was surprised, he was broken against Canelo. However a lot of boxers if they are not on a good level, of course, would be broken. You can work one, two days, but when you work for a week, for a month...... you know what I mean.

People get so carried away at a guys punching power that they ignore the obvious flaws in his game. Same case as we had with Kelly Pavlik.

 

the guy in your av can hit pads and it will sound crushing...but...GGG is in that league with Gerald McClellan and Julian Jackson....not just from the obvious in the ring power, but i know a cruiserweight that did alot of sparring with him a few months ago....this cruiserweight also spars heavyweights , mostly cruiserweights, but same old story...he claims has never been hit by anyone as hard as GGG...and he aint the first bigger guy to tell these tales :shock:
