Yes but i'm saying Tyson will not be able to overpower Liston and Liston had the best heavy jab ever that will give Tyson more problems than anything else could. How will Tyson be able to unload with the best jab in his face all night putting him off balance? if u've been hit with a hard jab you will know it will set u off balance but imagine being hit with the hardest.... Liston -stronger -better boxer -better jab -can work on the inside and outside -Liston had a great chin as well -Liston would box Tyson not go out wild and i do not see Tyson getting on the inside without Liston smuthering and holding -Liston fought Cleveland williams who didn't have a great chin but hit very hard and very fast broke Liston nose and Liston regrouped and came back to win both times, Tyson was obv better but Liston wasn't hopeless against speed and power, he had a good defence and a good offence.
And Larry Holmes did have a great jab but it was not as powerful as Listons, Listons would keep him off balance all night, and Holmes won the first rounds with his jab on the scorecards and that was an old Holmes Liston was stronger and had a harder jab. Liston is a nightmare for Tyson, i know alot of people like Tyson but sometimes you have to be objective and just see the fight for what would happen.
No that would put Tyson at 7 and Liston somewhere around 17, perhaps 16. Think he is quite a bit overrated. Still would beat Mike, it´s a style thing.
I don't really think your much help here i remember seeing you on quite a few Tyson vs threads and you seem to think Tyson beats everyone by late ko or ud....
:shock::shock: my apologies oh great gent and fellow scholar who has much greater knowledge than me and possibly a bigger **** thank you for the attention you just gave on to me i don't know if you noticed my fellow sir the threads that i posted in which tyson would win were the tua one this one and i believe the jerry q one but hey my fellow more intelligent man i don't think you noticed that one other fellow that goes by the dr.banzai name but hey forget about that im glad that you noticed me and not the other ****ing trolls im truly sorry for my ignorance
Thanks atleast you know now. If you want to know anything else just private message me before you post on here. thanks
Neither of these guys were tough mentally...I think that the first one to really get hurt and shook up loses the fight...
Out of the 2 of them, Tyson always took his beatings though. With all due respect to Liston, we cant forget what he did in Clay I and II
Ali really got into Liston's head in both fights in '64 and '65...Tyson's confidence took a nose dive when Buster Douglas punched back in 1990...and when Douglas got off the floor in the 9th round...and fought back...it's the school yard bully mentality...you stand up to 'em...fights over...you've got 'em...
But Tyson still took his beatings, whereas Liston first used the shoulder excuse and then in the rematch there was 'the dive'
Tyson in about 5, too fast for Liston and he's giving up much less size than normal. How many 220lb HW's has Liston actually beat?
Unless were talking about a prime Tyson vs an over the hill Liston the Clay fights dont count Sonny's prime was before the Clay fights where he took a pretty good beating breaking his nose in the first round of the Cleveland Williams fight and then coming back to win by tko. I don't remember Tyson getting hurt that badly and coming back to win in the fashion that Liston did in his prime
