Bit early but has anyone seen odds on Kessler to KO Magee anywhere? Was hoping to put it in an accumulator with some of this weekends fights.

Edit - Found it. Considering this:

    Price v Skelton - Under 5.5 rounds - 4/9

    Fury v Johnson - Fury Decision - 4/6

    Cotto v Trout - Cotto Decision - 7/5

    Kessler v Magee - Kessler KO/TKO/DQ - 4/7

Pacquiao V Marquez - Fight to go the distance - 9/20

Not certain about any of these apart from maybe Price/Skelton but might be worth a few quid at 13/1.

Had £250 on Price round 1 Harrison at 8's.

Not as sure on Skelton, went £100 on the 2nd at 5's

Don't forget to cover the draw if your on the Flintoff fight 4 rounds with a crooked ref most likely scoring himself :)

5/1 are awful odds for picking on an individual round.

On Freddie, Heffron and Pricey inside 6. pays just over 4/1.

I'm really interested in this actually and have loaded up my Paddy Power account ready to make some bets.

My belief is, that because the match up with Skelton is SO pathetic, Price will carry hm as long as his deceptively large ego allows to validate fighting him in the first place.

Which is why I am betting on the following

Rd1 (in case Skelton has Audley level punch resistance)

Rd3 (if Price's ego kicks in and doesn't want to carry an OAP any longer)

Rds 4-6 (as odds are better and Skelton may squeak through to these rounds if Price carries him/his mauling style is a bad stylistic match up for Price).

    Sound sensible??

    NO!
Its not the fighters job to justify the opponent, thats the promoters, and I think Price would rather knock Skelton out brutally and quickly and add to his growing reputation, than get into a maul fest with Skelton.
I think Price and 2.10 rounds 1-3 are outstanding odds.
If I was to bet on this, and I havent yet decided, Id bet £500 on that, and an extra hundred on Price at 5-1 in the 1st.

Because everyone is labelling him as an iron fisted puncher (I'm not saying he can't bang)

TBF you are absolutely spot on regarding the promoter's responisbility.

BUT I am betting on this to make money for myself and I am trying to think coldly and exclude what SHOULD happen in a fair world.

Instead, I am trying to gauge Price's mentality for this fight.

Personally, I think Price could and SHOULD finish Skelton inside a round. Didn't Pulev lay him out cold in 4 in only his fourth ever fight??

But this is a business - as well as a sport and hence why I will lay heavily on Price to win in 1 ... but I also think it could bizarrely go to 4-6 and afterwards it is claimed that Price was trying new techniques like Fury going southpaw against Rogan etc.

Anyway you've seen my bets. Round 1 will be the heaviest bet for me. But the odds are good for 4-6 so I'll wade quite deep in with that too :smoke
