Not really, It was always going to be game over when that uppercut landed, Heffron was gone, decent stoppage, imo.

Heffron a hypejob? This was just his 12th fight, he'd never been past 8 and his best opponent to date has been Peter McDonagh.

Vassell on the other hand beat Purdy and has done 12 rounds a few time. Vassell's more talented than him but also has loads more experience. This came too soon for Ronnie.

Vassell had too many dimensions. It looked like one guy who knows how to roll at the waist, knows the inner intricacies of fighting with an aggressive style, and one basic guy that needs a lot of work.

:good Heffron didn't look to be in a position to defend himself and my guess is he'd have took some heavy shots.

    Exactly!

He nearly dropped, somehow stayed on his feet and if the ref hadn't stopped it he'd have been in so much trouble.

  6. heffron has been with that coach (forgot his name lol ) too long

    He wasn't that hurt.

Stoppage was premature and he should have been given the chance. One flush shot should not mean stoppage, I've seen plenty of fighters hurt way worse and come back.

Although saying that Vessels was dominating.

I like Vassell, seems old school and is a very solid fighter.

Good fight. So so stoppage. The kid dug deep to stand up and go for the clinch, I would have given him one or two more punches while being ready to step in. The ref should clarify in the pre fight instructions that if you look out on your feet then take a knee as I will err on the side of caution and stop it.

Refs need to get it right with their communication. Its over when you wave your arms off and get in between the fighters. In this instance it looked like Vassell waved off his own fight by walking away.

Vassell is very good I think, he has beat 4 very good fighters so far.

He should quit the bank job and go full time.
