Just rewatched, obvious fix. After the kd Dawson went backwards and threw 3 punches in the following 1.40+ left of the round.
Its took a few years but I have finally found someone to take Calzaghes mantel of worst punch technique ever to stalk the earth.
This kittens got claws! Meow! Seriously though, I hope there is no hype or big publicity as I fear Flintoff's ego could put him in with someone who could do real damage.
Every single second of that, from the intros to the post-fight interviews, screamed 'stunt'. I was expecting Terry Wogan to make an appeal for Children in Need at the end. Respect to Flintoff for getting in the ring but that was an embarassment to boxing.
It was a utter joke. I'm not one to say i will beat someone but i'd beat Flintoff and beat him with ease. For 8 months i think he just got fit and learned how to throw arms forward.
Ive seen far worse fights on am shows al over the northwest, far worse, ive seen the same in pros as well
Most with any ring knowledge would mand( i mean fighting, not reading books)but id bet 90% on here flint would knock the **** outa them
Its the top story on the Sky sports app "Flintoff sees off Dawson" and reported ahead of Price....it's 4th top story on the sky news app.....How on earth must David Price feel that he cant compete for publicity against a 35 year old ex cricketer.....this country is mad, reality tv has now moved into sport and im amazed simon cowell wasnt there tonight to get his money grabbing paws into it. Such an obvious stunt... Flintoff gets off the canvas to win and looks a hero Dawson knocked him down and gets a great payday (id imagine a tidy little sum for this early stage of a career) and will go back to fight Kimbo Boxnation get a few more viewers and the promoters get a decent payday. Everybody wins!
I'm not sure why there is so much resentment towards Flintoff. Yeah, he was terrible but **** it, he trained hard, he fought as best as he could and he got the win. Many guys would have run throughout the fight and many would have quit after the knockdown. It's not a problem to say he's a poor fighter, because he is, but he gave it his best and I credit him for that. Guys like Bunce and Lillis showed a lot of resentment towards him, probably because they think it's offensive to 'their' sport but I don't see it that way at all. Flintoff came in, worked hard, won and that's what boxing is all about, not ability. I hope Flintoff goes away for 6 months, trains hard and then has another bout. I think he's got potential to improve. He won't even get to a decent level in the sport but he's not the worst fighter you'll ever see after 5 months training. Fair play to him and well done to the McGuigan's. Whether he carries on or retires, he can hold his head up high.
I fear this is only the start, next it will be Keith Chegwin fighting off the brooding Dale Winton. Its a slippery slope ''Boxing'' has found itself upon.
