    These ridiculous mismatches in size are wasting space on the forum.

    Burley would not beat Louis, rocky would not beat wlad, the difference in size is just too great.

    I think Burley may when a few early rounds until Louis catches up with him, he's only about 10lbs lighter than Conn after all. Then again a fast starting Louis may just go through him like a knife through butter

    This...if Conn could...Burley could...Greb too. But Louis would win against the three. Too much technical fire power.

    Yes and were talking perhaps the most underrated most ducked fighter in history, Burley was absolutely amazing, Edfide Futch said he was the best fighter he ever saw, Archie Moore said it was his hardest fight, there's a list of great fighters as long as both my arms that read of people who ducked him, Ray Arcel also says he's the greatest he ever saw... His style would be terrible for Joe Louis a boxer that could out maneuver him at every turn, better than Walcott with far far far superior boxing skills, and the reason i made this thread is because he fought alot of heavyweights and i believe he could beat Louis, When your ducked by Sugar Ray Robinson you know you must be something great, and Burley proved he could stay in with heavyweights easily, i think you think im stupid for this but if you knew enough about Burley you would not be saying this is a waste of space, Burley is perhaps the greatest ever, too good for a title shot too good to face decent opponents even, learn enough about Burley to call this thread stupid and then i might listen until then your boxrec opinions of him are not wanted here

    this is one of those fights that without footage we really can't say. burley could tackle heavyweights, could fight bigger opposition and seemed to have a style suited to the task (similar to roy jones, in the one film we have of him).

    on paper, this is ridiculous. but with film, with reflection, MAYBE a case for burley could be justified.

    on style and reputation, greb is favoured over many heavyweights though never really louis

    True... it is a very general statement. Alot depends on how highly you rate Burley. Conn and Burley aren't similar stylistically, but both did fight larger men and did well...and both are also very experienced and with that would come the ability to use their attributes ie speed to step up or slow down pace, maintaining distance. etc. Conn stayed a step ahead of Louis but using speed and varying his attack between countering and leading. I think Burley could have done the same...in fact Burley appears to be better much defensively than Conn, and could have better power. So yeah...why not?
