Everyone in the General Forum discounts everyone who wasn't "amazing" in past eras. Being near Ohio, and coming from a common gym as him, I was interested in watching Tubbs. Watching the fight... Bowe: I was surprised that Bowe was so slim, fluid, accurate and with his size...I'm sure he was walking through most guys previously. Tubbs: Looked like a regular dude, but he had unexpected hand speed and explosiveness, and a good chin. He was taking most of what Riddick had without a problem. Overall, it was good to watch. I learned some things watching Tubbs work inside. His body positioning, posture and countering were subtle but effective. Anybody else seen this fight? What were your thoughts?
had it 6-4 i believe. tubbs was great, solid test for bowe on his way up. i was impressed with how bowe pulled it out when it was close. two years later, bowe probably would have destroyed him. tubbs in his prime would've outboxed that bowe to a close decision.
Great test for the young Bowe. Tubbs was a regular sparring partner for Bowe, maybe he took it easy on Tony, but I thought Bowe won the fight pretty clearly.
I watched it some years ago. I don't quite recall how it went, but I remember I liked the fight. I thought about watching it again 2weeks ago actually, that's funny.
