Some good exchanges, and analysis in this thread.

TT is a good fight for Price, but he needs to stop w/the 40+ yr olds :tired regardless of what they've done in the past. Agree that TT has been a true contender and he came to the fore late in his career.

Yet Fury, who many think isn't as good as Price, has at least beaten a rugged Chisora. Btw Del Boy is well under 40 :yep

Among Helenius, Fury, Price, and Wilder - all big, very tall modern HWs - it's very hard to tell which one (or two) will end up w/the better career. The first two on that list have had the better opposition, by far over the latter two. Let's see what happens with Fury v Johnson, then Price v TT.

Nice of price to acually take a step up instead of step forward.

Fair step up for Price. Thompson is probably just a shell of his former self but he was/is a good boxer with decent power in his own right. Good to see Price fighting taller HW's also, since he's eventually going to have to fight one of the Klitschkos (presumably Wladmir) if he wants to be champion.

I find it hilarious how people are ripping Price for potentially picking Thompson. Which I believe is a great matchup for him at this stage, maybe even a step too far along the ladder after Audley and Skelton.

But to say Thompson isn't 'good enough' for Price at this stage. You guys are clueless.

    Thats what Im talking about.

I dont want to make another book outta a post, but yeah, Thompson is a great step in the right direction for Price, and if Price has ANY flaws in his defense or chin, Thomspon is just the man to expose them,

    EVEN at 41 y/o.:good

Dude seriously, lay off the crackpipe. Thompson is a very very good opponent for Price if they can get this fight made. It's perfect match-making, whoever is handling Price ought to be commended if they get this fight signed.

Exactly. You need to acclimitize before taking on the big guys. No point in taking on guys who are all at the same level as each other. Skelton culd possibly beat Thompson. That is why I think Bellew lost to Cleverly. He went from Ovill Mckenzie to Cleverly. Big step up.

Price has fought no one world class since his amateur days. He has been fighting cans for 3-4 years. Yes he had the sparring. But sparring is just not the same as the real thing. I fail to believe that 'no one will fight price'. Money talks and I am sure they can cough up the dosh to persuade one of them.

its only gd matchmaking in terms of price getting a kind of high profile quick ko...

no progression in it tho bro..thompson is to slow and dosnt take a punch well..and hasnt enough power to get prices respect to stop him from going all guns blazing in the first 3

Price by KO in round one. Price fights like a man and not that ***** grab and jab **** Wlad does. Price is a lot better than Wlad.

always a good step up fighting a 42 year old who has about 3 wins in 3 years and coming off a KO loss in his last fight where he didnt win 1 second of 1 round. **** fight. **** fight. **** fight. but better than the 45 or 46 year old opponent tonight......maybe next time he can crack the 30 year old age group with a 39 year old

i'm not feeling this fight in the slightest. yeah, it gives some credit to price for a win over him because of his two fights with the champ, but lets be honest here, price will blow him away in about 4 rounds. it won't be a cautious wlad in there with him, it will be an up and comer who isn't afraid to let his hands go... that doesn't look good for TT.

TT is only good for messing people around. it isn't going to work here. easy win for price.

Wow, almost everyone is favoring Price by KO.

I think that would be quite a statement.

Only one person has ever stopped Thompson, and he's the Terminator of heavyweight.
