I hope you're right. I don't know enough about Trout to offer an informed opinion.

You can take a peak here if you're curious. If I remember right, Rodriguez is one of the highest (of not the highest) ranked fighters Trout has faced.

In this fight, everything comes from the right jab. He throws the occasional counter or lead straight left, or sets it up with a jab to the body, but it looks like he prioritizes landing the jab before anything else, so Cotto's likely to isolate it and make it his fight.

Cotto is just such a jump up from a C level guy like Rodriguez. Hard to gauge how Austin will do. He definitely has the tools.

Just on a side note (nothing personal dude), why do people always talk about 'today's boxing is so corrupt, boxing is going to ****, everybody's getting robbed' etc., etc.
I mean, it's true to a degree, but don't people realize that fighters got robbed and blacklisted at least twice as much in, for example, the good ol' Sugar Ray Robinson days?

As far as the fight goes, it's a real hard one to call. But i'm a big fan of Cotto and i love his professionalism, and the way he gets up for everyone his fights 100%, even for these kind of 'smaller' events. That might be an important factor.
And last but not least: WARRRR COTTO

What's with this rumor that Trout has food poisoning? I read it on a gambling site, any truth to this?

I can't believe you guys are giving this Austin Trout a chance here. Cotto won't lose this fight and the only way he does is by knockout.

Austrin ''No Doubt'' Trout will not ko Cotto.

This is not a best man win kind of fight, it's more of a who's time is it fight and I believe it's Trouts time to move forward. Cotto is gonna be Cotto and he brings his best game in every fight I've seen him in. I just don't think that Trout will be denied, his mindset is gonna see him through. Cotto will not be able to bring to bear any tricks or moves that Trout won't be ready for. He is gonna stick and move all night and keep that jab and straight left in Cottos face. He's not gonna sit still for any heavy exchanges and Cotto is gonna get frustrated and make minor mistakes that Trout will capitalize on. I see Trout winning by SD or UD. Trout wants this win and the monies that will come as a result. He is hungry as a mother****a and the only way Cotto can win this fight is by knockout.:bbb

Hunger can make you fight out of your skin, but it can't give you new skills. Cotto brings everything Trout hasn't seen before under a blanket of elite ability. He's never seen the jab, left hook, body attack, lateral movement, timing, and combination punching that Miguel Cotto brings. If Cotto takes away that jab, he's left with little else.

I love Cotto, he's the kind of fighter that you love to see in the ring. Comes to ****ing fight every time, hits hard and has some skill and he's vulnerable.

That said.. I thought he was shot before PBF fight.. but yeah.. I don't know now.

:nono not even mayweather did that 'to pieces'. Trout will do well and have his moments but for me it comes down to can Austin Trout handle elite level power and occasion. if he can the cotto is in a fight tonight.

But I expect cotto to be a level above Austin trout

Cotto doesn't have elite power...and Cotto isn't an elite fighter. He's much much better than anything Trout's been in with, and that's the concern if you are a Trout fan. Is this a step too far, too soon.
