He's a young 32. His lone loss came to a dominant HW champion. I don't count his 2-1 decision loss to Hamer. I scored it 28/28 and Johnson is a notoriously slow starter. I know, I know, he had two fights to warm up, but ad******g has always been a detractor to his game.

I'd tip him 10/10 times in a 12 rd fight to beat or even stop Hamer.:deal

After he looses tonight......it's back to journeyman then onto contenders once again. He could easily make another 8-10 fights and another title run before his 36th Bday.:think

Hamer decisively beat Kingpin, and would've done even better over eight. (Hamer is still a question mark at longer schedules)

Of course, Kingpin's heart didn't seem in it and that was a career-best showing from Tor.

Some people think that Fury is just going to take this.
I like Tyson, but this is a risky fight for any prospect out there.

One heavyweight had the good sense to not fight Johnson.... but made the mistake of underestimating another heavy.

    Ceiling for Chris Jr.?

100% chip off the old block? (HOF)

80%? (title holder, but doesn't beat anyone great)

60%? (domestic success, maybe a close but no cigar world contender)

    40% (mixed domestic success)

20%? (gets annihilated by Saunders and never heard from again; or worse, halted in his tracks by Pryce)

Johnson would lose a 3 rounder against Lepai if it happened.
Johnson is not a 3 round fighter.

Fair point. Mitchell was keen to bark at Johnson, but obviously wasn't confident enough to exchange bites.

That would've been a classic boxer vs. puncher match-up, and you'd have to give the edge to the more experienced boxer who's mixed with drastically more formidable company.

He is a slow starter, but on that night he was an utter non-starter.

He knew the PF format when he enrolled in it. He isn't an idiot. He knew what was needed, and didn't pluck up to do it. He let the smaller & greener man toy with him.

I hate to say it, but Diamante probably rates above him on the sheer basis of actually having swag. Announcers should have some personality, although not a distracting one (Joe Martinez being a perfect example of striking the balance with reserved professionalism while not coming across a bore)
