Trout beat Cotto WAYYY more convincingly than Mayweather!

Cotto tried to make it dirty but Trout had the new cup and beat him at the low blow game.

 

Well Bogo was right about that. Cotto was parrying and trying to establish hos own jab and hook. But once trout started landing that left to the body, Cotto said the hell with his jab and resorted to wild lead left hooks. Trout did great at tying him up and crowding Cotto. Just a beautiful display of boxing from Trout tonight.

 

No, it doesn't. But what does make Cotto a worser fighter is a noticeable decline in reflexes, balance, and overall form. These are the tell tale signs of a shot fighter.

Trout didn't do anything particularly special tonight. There were plenty of openings for Cotto to exploit. However, he was unable to exploit many of them because he can no longer deliver punches with fluidity and often loses balance after delivering punches. Cotto has been gradually sliding for a while now, and tonight was the worst version of Miguel Cotto I ever seen. Cotto's timing tonight was almost as bad as Ricky Hatton's was last week.

The rounds were more givable to Cotto in this fight, but Trout seemed more in control than Floyd did.

Trout observed that he wanted to do certain things different which Floyd didn't do in their fight, and I think he meant controlling the center of the ring. For entire stretches of the fight, he did just that.

 

TRT floyd is overrated as ****.

 

Well the Cotto of old would have hit him directly on the balls, not on the hip and possibly have tried to body slam Trout at some point :yep but I applaud cotto for switching up the game plan and having some good moments.

 

trout landed several. made him backpedal, hold and turn his back. none of that was strategic, it was trout beating the fight out of cotto, again.

Pretty close, but I would not argue against that. Trout really surprised me and my boys. I thought Cotto beats him easily. Either Cotto isn't that good or Trout needs to be recognized. I think it's more of the latter. I don't see a rematch changing anything.

 

Floyd didn't use a lot of movement against Cotto. He chose to go toe to toe and still had Cotto on ***** street at least once. He basically beat Cotto at his own game. Would or could Trout do that? Trout stayed outside and never had Cotto hurt. Not sure why people are so impressed by Trout's win. It's solid but it wasn't like he was landing clean shots on Cotto all night. The early to mid rounds were close and tough to score. Clear win for Trout but nothing says he has Mayweather-like skills or better.

This was a close fight. Trout won, by my score 9 rounds to 3 but many rounds were close and Trout just barely pulled them out. Trout was just bigger, faster and stronger. He got caught plenty but Cotto's power at 154 isn't overwhelming and it showed tonight. Keep in mind also, this is the first time Cotto fought a primed, young champion at 154 since coming to the weight. Perhaps, overrated as a JMW.

 

Well, from what I saw, he was calling Canelo's ass out but Canelo was getting the **** outa the building. I know Canelo heard him cause he was shouting.
