Trout beat Cotto WAYYY more convincingly than Mayweather!

And Cotto has beaten southpaws down just with that left hand...Judah, Corley, Quintana.

Trout did a lot of subtle things to make Cotto ineffective. His movement was very good tonight and got him out of trouble a number of him.

Speaking of Mayweather. He's got some of the most overrated wins in the last 5 years. He struggled with Cotto. Beat a rusty over the hill Mosley and beat a mental weakling in Ortiz. Both Pac & Ward can make a better case for P4P #1 than the ducker.

Mayweather, not to hate (I appreciate the skills) gets the benefit of the doubt. He struggles versus Cotto and we all assume it's because Cotto is better than he was before but it's that Mayweather was that off that night or shouldn't have been at 154 or both. It doesn't take anything away from Trout, a win like this is enormous for him at this phase of his career.

 

Floyd is small as **** compared to Trout.

Yeah, Trout fought a helluva fight, but it's not an apples to apples comparison based on Trout being the naturally bigger, stronger guy. He was able to muscle Cotto much easier, really not sure what your point is.

I think Trout hurt Cotto to the body multiple times, and the body work is what won him the fight, IMO.

 

That would've been a good argument if Cotto didn't get beat down by a much smaller fighter.

Floyd gets the benefit of the doubt TOO MUCH. 3 fights in 3 years. The Ortiz win was a garbage cheap shot win. Mosley was inactive for a year and still managed to rock him. And other fighters have beaten Cotto much more convincingly.

Agreed. It may have been the size difference, the stance, the age difference, or a matter of styles. But Trout definitely got a round or so more than Mayweather against Cotto.
