Eubank was clearly smoother with his movement, more aesthetically pleasing... than Jones Jr.

Eubank played safe most of his career with domestic fights and second rate imports for a reason, guys like McCallum, Jackson, Barkley, Hopkins, Toney and Nunn were avoided never mind Jones Jnr. Benn has a better resume despite the tko loss.

 Err nope Eubank was very good , nothing more and nothing less, he was also inconsistant, Jones was sensational, i'm English but i can admit that. If fat boy Dan Schommer could school Eubank he'd have no chance against Roy.

If Eubank was so great why did he spend his time fighting and getting razor thin (and lucky on a couple of occasions) decision against often mediocre opposition when their were guys like Toney, McCallum, Kalambay, Jones, Jackson, Nunn and even Barkley in the same divisions as him. I'm sorry but to be classed sensational you have to fight and beat the best around which Eubank did not do regardless of what you have to say. Remeber Jonathan Ross for instance when Toney called out both Benn and Eubank? Benn was the one accepting the challenge, not Eubank he just sat there saying nothing.

As Eubank said, he was only ever interested in winning six out of 12 rounds. When he turned it on, he was something else! Those combinations were the flashiest you saw.

Chris also had the sneakiest counter overarm right you'll ever see thrown.

Roy Jones Jr was miles more talented than Eubank.

I wouldn't say miles, but Jones Jr had a lot of tendon and ligament strength and natural range of motion in the shoulders, that allowed him to punch as hard as anyone despite his feet being off the ground, and punch as fast as anyone with his feet on the ground, and quadruple hooks, etc.

They were both v.mobile with terrific reflexes, but Eubank was quite a bit slicker and Jones Jr certainly springier, as well as fitter and angrier.

    Damn fine post..

Would have been an amazing fight for any true boxing fan had these two squared off in their respected primes.

    Why?

It was a very good post that I didn't see before, very insightful though I may disagree slightly with some of it.... Much better than the trolling bull**** that goes on all the time here.. Etiquette is the last thing you should expect on ESB.
