I was raised a Christian, I read the bible and went to church every weekend. It led to guilt, anxiety and depression. The more I questioned it and the more I learned the more I realised it was absolute nonsense. The less I believed in God the better my life became.
If you need a book to tell you not to be a **** then I'm worried about you. The bible is a load of **** written by archaic men from a different time. You can read anything in the world and apply things from it to your life. I'm glad that you're content being an ignorant simpleton, but that's not for me.

Practically every single post in this thread, the extremely pro-religion and extremely anti-religion ones alike, have been really, really annoying. Just thought you guys should know.

Except Boxed Ears', but that's because he's cooler than all of you.

U are correct. The question is what God do u believe in now a days. Cause u know Satan worshippers believe the Devil is a God. We know that is a lie!

And i already said i dont know what he believes or if he believes in Jesus because he publicly hasnt given praise to Him therefore it was incorrect of the thread starter to state that Floyd does indeed praise Jesus Christ. Which him and i came to the conclusion of before u started babbling on about ur own agenda.

I'm really shocked that people still believe in god, or a god (there have been thousands of documented gods since the beginning of recorded history). It's akin to believing in the tooth fairy. Whenever I hear someone thank someone make believe I'm embarrassed for them.

If, in some ridiculous universe, the christian god existed, then it would not be a good place to be. The god in the bible is genocidal, egotistical, jealous, vindictive and generally very evil.

Really? Well I'm sorry, but whatever you learned was taught improperly. Read anywhere about Jesus, and you find me one thing he ever said to anybody where he made them feel guilty, and depressed. The woman that was caught in adultery (CAUGHT.. she was GUILTY) and they wanted to stone her... It was the way of the law. Jesus wrote something in the sand (some beleive it was everybodies sins), and he said "He that is without sin cast the first stone!" One by one the men walked away, and he said to the woman "Where are your accusers?" and told her that he DID NOT condemn her, to leave and sin no more.
Paul in romans says after thinking about why he still makes mistakes "Therefore, there is now NO CONDEMNATION is christ". The devil is called "the ACCUSER of the brethen." Guilt, anxiety, depression come from the devil. Mercy, forgiveness, love come from God. Whether we go to church or not there is a battle between good and evil. I can bend the bible the way I want by avoiding certain things, and this is what churches do unfortunatley. Bible clearly says you will still have trials/ tribulations, but God is with you through it all. If he's with me, will never forsake me, loved me so much he died for me, continues to bless me even though I'm not perfect, helps me daily... Wheres the bad news at?
Even things like "Fear God" are misunderstood. If you study it you would realize it doesn't mean run for the hills, but have reverential fear and awe of God. He is your lord, you love him, obey him, and respect him.. not live in fear. Now go back to the new testament, the life of Jesus Christ, study, and tell me if theres anywhere he condemned people. For gods sake.. He even got beaten, spit on, crucified, and at the end of his life heres what he said about the people that did it "FATHER! Forgive them... For they know not what they do." That's a pretty loving god in my opinion..

People like you are the reason why religious people hate atheists. My problem is not that you don't believe in God, my problem is that you are disrespecting everybody that does believe in god, you should respect everybody's beliefs, you have to give respect to earn it back. I honestly feel very sorry for you.
