Earnie Shavers couldnt put Cobb to sleep and he punches harder than foreman. Foreman is known for tiring early, Cobb is not. Cobb can take it to the body just as well as to the head. Ive got Cobb winning on points an easy UD for Cobb.
Shavers punched harder with the right hand according to the 2 or 3 common opponents they had. Foreman had a wider variety of harder shots as oppose to Shavers overhand right. Foreman was physically stronger,a better fighter and a 2 time world champion. Foreman had nearly 50 fights in the first part of his career and tired in 2 or 3 of them. So it's a myth that he had terrible stamina. Also,Foreman stopped Chuvalo in what 3 rounds? Chuvalo with one of the best chins ever! Foreman will stop Cobb inside 5 rounds. Cobb was KO'd in round one in his career and he only beat Shavers because Shavers had a weak chin. Foreman wins in 4-5
foreman never dropped Chuvalo. Chuvalo was swallowing blood from his nose and was mostly countering and defending when the fight got stopped. Quote from Chuvalo to the ref about stopping the fight: "Are you insane?"
Seriously you have Cobb winning Chuvalo who had proved his chin against better fighters was knocked back by Foreman onto the ropes and Foreman had many other punches that were harder than Shavers such as the uppercut hooks especially left, Foreman tko,
Muhammad Ali, Joe Bugner, Larry Holmes, Randall "tex" Cobb, Ron Lyle And Ken Norton All Credited Shavers As Being The Hardest Puncher They Had Ever Faced In The Ring.
Boom exacly right, Cobb could take a punch, Foreman could give a punch, but Foreman could give alot more than one hard punch.
Then he would gas like with Ali? Pass out and fall to thr ground without ever having been Koed? :boxx
Shavers was having footing problems in the Cobb fight. George would beat Cobb up terribly. It would get stopped. A one-sided joke.
A ton of heavy leather buries Cobb in the 4th...maybe an "on his feet" tko. He would have a chance to go the distance with big George if he could survive past the 4th however.
Cobb was easy to hit but he did survive Shavers best but George had a jab. I think Foreman's skills ,jab, power could stop Cobb by the 4-5th round but should Tex somehow survive he would have tired Big George on his hands......Cobb was not really a hard puncher so I think George could coast with the jab unless Ref stops it but you never know what fatigue can do to a man...George hit a lot harder than Holmes and should be able to get the stop before his tank goes empty but Cobb could whack harder than Peralta
