Big Red is a special idiot to pull that off on this forum.

does not look good, boys. he appeared drunk. i've seen enough sober videos to be pretty sure about that. if his head is not quickly removed from his ass and if he does not take this fight as seriously as he possibly can, it could get ugly.

I'm sure he did. He also told me Pavlik was knocking out cruiserweights in sparring. ;)

It could get ugly? Any Pavlik post 2008 fight v Ward is ugly. This is going to be embarrassing and tragic.

I saw that video last night on youtube. I said to myself "pavlik looks like he's been drinking". Whether he was just buzzed or smashed, I don't know. If he's a recovering alcoholic, he shouldn't be drinking. He hangs with the wrong people that don't understand the discipline of the fight game. I'm sure Andre Ward doesn't and hasn't been putting down any liquor. Really, Pavlik is in denial. He probably didn't think he had a problem in the first place and says to himself -- I'm drinking alot less than I did before I went to the Betty Ford Center. Not good enough, Kelly! Get serious -- may be too late.

Well, that does seem to be the question.

Damn, sure sounds like it. I'm not going to pass judgment about him possibly drinking, but I just hope he puts his heart and soul into this training camp. It's his last chance at glory and he's fighting the best or, at worst, second best fighter of his career. I hope he gives a really good account of himself, but I'm pretty confident in saying Ward puts it on him from whatever range and with whatever tactics he chooses to go with.

Maybe that's his strategy in this god awful fight?

Get drunk so he don't feel the pain?

    Duran was actually famously anti-drug.

Now Julio Cesar Chavez on the other hand...

    Yup.

I have no idea what has happened in his personal life that has led him to drink

I would have thought though that being that this is essentially his career getting back on track, that he you know....I dunno, given alchoholism is a problem for him I assumed maybe this woulda been motivaiton for him to stay away from it if nothing else more than to be in shape
