George Groves / James DeGale... Who will have done more?

    George Groves / James DeGale... Who will have done more?

    The fight between Groves and DeGale was close and arguements were seen for both. I felt Groves was a couple of points up, but it was a fight that seemed evenly matched, and both deserve full credit for putting it on the line so early in their careers.

    Lets just say both win their next fight and looking at what they have done so far and who they have both beat, who do you think will have done the more to date?

    Groves noted wins -
    G Johnson, (if Groves wins) not done very much at SMW but did have a time at LHW
    C Adamu, pushed Froch early in Frochs career
    J DeGale, (undefeated) British champ when Groves fought him
    K Anderson, (undefeated) now British champion
    F Sierra, a beatable but noted puncher
    P Smith, a former British champ

    DeGales noted wins
    F Zuniga, (if DeGale wins) a beatable but noted puncher, only tends to lose at the higher level
    P Smith, British champ when DeGale fought him
    C Sanavia, a former SMW world champ
    P Wilczewski, European champ when DeGale fought him


    So providing they both win their next fight, who do you think has done the more and should be rated the higher?

    I think the win Groves has over DeGale gives him a one up, but DeGale has beaten a reigning European champ and former SMW world champ

    When its listed like that it would appear Groves would come out on top, but the reality is there pretty even in terms of resume/opposition

    If your asking who now is the better fighter from the two id say Groves looks to be steadily improving where as De Gale is marking time at best!

    the way he handled paul smith was my view of why hes better atm.degale looked crap in his last fight as well.we will no more in 2 weeks when they both fight

    Groves looks like he's gaining composure in selecting the correct power shot (among many other areas of improvement) the shot he hit Smith with was an extremely well placed, well timed shot

    De Gale's work does look sloppy right now, and has shown little to no signs of getting better

    Who would you pick if DeGale and Groves fought now?
    Groves seemed wary to engage with DeGale, but did box beautifully to a plan on the back foot.

    I think to be fair to them both, for the respective amount of fights each has had, they are doing very well in terms of their competition, if we're looking at it from the perspective of the normal British prospect. It's good beign tested regulalrly as early as they have been and will only stand them in good stead for the future.

    Degale needs a new trainer.

    Groves needs guidance cos he's turning into a self satisfied *****.

    Atm Groves has done more.

    A better questions is if they swapped trainers and fought in three fights times who would you have winning? Thats probably the crux of the matter.

    If Groves wins then definitely Groves
    Im not even sure DeGale would beat Johnson
