IDK... He's so slow on his feet and has really bad killer instinct. I think Hassan could actually probably beat him in a rematch, despite all of those knockdowns the fight was actually kind of close.
He's fringe top 10. Definitely overrated though. Quillin lost basically every round except for his 10-7 rounds. I scored it 8-4 Hassan in rounds, to get to a final scorecard of 112-110 Quillin. He has a low workrate, suspect stamina, little lateral movement, not much of a jab... he does appear to have a good chin and solid power and timing, but that's about it. He also thinks he's a lot slicker defensively than he actually is. He spent large parts of the Hassan fight lying on the ropes while Hassan just worked him over. Somebody like Golovkin would destroy him. Chavez Jr. would bust him up badly too.
This is probably what's gonna end up happening to Peter Quillin sooner or later: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLOnVBx_yqc[/ame] Goodnight :tired
Peter Quillin beat Winky Wright which is greater than any win on Martinez's and Chavez's and Mack the Knife's records.
He's a title holder but he's nowhere near GGG.Chavez Jr or Sergio. He couldn't even finish a guy he had dropped 100 times. He even let Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam back into the fight a little by taking one too many shots. Qullin is a good fighter but he's only second tier really. Fan friendly style though.
He just beat N'Jikam who was clearly a top ten fighter. So yes, he is. There's absolutely no question about it.
I like him but he is a highlight reel K.O waiting to happen. He was getting hit by N'dam too often. I could honestly see a guy like macklin brutalize him like he did his last opponent.
He deserves to be ranked ahead of GGG. His win against N'Jikam is a fair bit better than any one of Golovkin's wins. That said, Golovkin would destroy him and, by accounts, already has in sparring.
