but lopez's victory over ortiz was enough to win him a date with canelo? something tells me the fact that trout is a natural 154 pounder and a big one at that, is the only thing preventing canelo from fighting him. if trout was coming up from 140 or 147; canelo's handlers would be all over that.

What hardcore boxing fans want, is Canelo to step up. We're tired of the bull****. He's a draw, so what? Chavez Jr is a decent draw too, but he put his balls on the line against Martinez. This whole deserving, undeserving crap is for P4P elite level fighters. Canelo would get a pass if he took down the REALLY deserving guys, i.e the boxers who have been at his division for awhile and have belts, are contending, or at least ranked. He's like a little kid who was born rich and doesn't need to work for anything. All fighters have to pay their dues, it's a part of the game and has been since it began. You beat the man to become the man. This is the so-called heir apparent?

Kind of a damper on things since Canelo will lose the Trout fight and pretty handily as well.

    Yes you can.
And that's really sad considering he's been a world champion for coming on two years now and has a title reign that cosists entirely of shot fighters(Mosley, Cintron), never were types(Hatton, Rhodes, Gomez) and guys who are near the top but are completely out of their weight division(Lopez).

This is a disgrace even in a sport with as little integrity as boxing.

Trouts win over Cotto is better then anything Canelo has on his resume.

Rhodes beats Moore and gets a shot
I dont even know what Gomez did for a shot
Lopez earns his shot by beating Ortiz

Trout beats Cotto and all of a sudden you dont get it off of one fight.

    Pretty pathetic

Canelo fans justifying it make me all the more sick. They don't have a single dollar to gain from any of it, and yet they're on the sidelines cheering for legitimate fights to be shelved. Are you ****ing serious? :rofl Canelo "hasn't fought anyone that shows he would hang with Trout", yet half of them think he KO's Mayweather? So which is it?

Some of you turnips are wasting too much time hating the player instead of the game.

Had Cotto not ****ed up by losing to Trout we'd all be ready to see Canelo vs Cotto but the same group would've found some **** to throw at Ginger.

    Whinny ****s:lol:

This is why boxing is a joke sometimes. I used to pay my money to watch these fights but not anymore. I watch it illegally and I am happy I am no longer supporting Top Rank and Golden Boy b/c of the protection agency they run. I understand the money side of it but, it is becoming too obvious now what is going on.

I personally like how the Cotto-Canelo fight would've been a 50-50, but the guy who beat Cotto now isn't "good enough" for Canelo.

Boxing is all about names and fame these days.
