Felix "the BIGGEST Cherrypicker" Sturm....

We all knew Sturm was greasing them. I'm sure this stuff is happening all the time.

I imagine they wanted another brown envelope Sturm was unwilling to give so they eventually forced him to fight Golovkin or vacate the belt. I'm so glad this piece of **** lost to Geale.

 

Assuming this claim is true...is anyone really surprised? This is boxing people where politics, money, and lip service run the show. Titles can be bought, opponents can be paid to step aside or stay quiet, judges can be corrupted as can other officials, and fans continue to accept low quality matchups. LOL

I'm not surprised in the slightest, especially given the fact that we're talking about Felix Sturm. The guy has stayed in Europe, avoided dangerous fights, and milked his "title" for all it's worth. Sturm is a feather fisted fighter with very average skills. Had he not had this type of protection no one would know who the hell the guy is because he'd been knocked the hell out and into early retirement.

Boxing is the only sport where mediocrity, with the right amount of monetary and network support behind it, can soar and be sold as greatness.

 

This guy has been cherry picking all his career and no one gives a damn. Looks like Canelo and his team are taking notes.

I think this why he fought Geale he wanted another belt so he could vacate the WBA so he did not have to fight GGG, he thought Geale was the easiest way to win another belt. He knew Geale couldn't knock him out so he figured if he kept it competitive he would get another gift but instead he got his ass beat fair & square by a better fighter...

Öner is a certified criminal. But then again, there's probably a bit of truth in what he says. Certainly his story makes sense, wouldn't surprise me one bit, everyone knew Sturm was cherrypicking and ran from mandatory defenses for years.
