Yes it was only one glove, if you were going to tamper with the gloves why not tamper with both of them?

Also I say there is a possibility Wach did not know because he did not have the gloves on, we don't know if he knew to take action that he was complicit. If he had the glove on I would say he knew, but that isn't the case and it can't be proven otherwise.

Like I said there is still an issue as to if Wach's team actually did tamper with the gloves and not another party.

So like I said at best the only thing that can be done if situation holds as is, is to punish the official who let the glove be tampered with, if it was in fact tampered with at all and not simply a defect from the factor, which has happened before, see Khan's gloves with the rubber thumb.

only because he wasnt allowed to put it on until Vitali was in the room and allowed to check the gloves...... whether Wach knew or not is not important. He needs to take the fall just like the guy who actually did it....... thats the way it has to be otherwise its just to easy for a dirty fighter to hide behind his trainer, manager, or promoter

ANOTHER PARTY?... not possible unless the ref was in on it... all gloves are checked by both teams after the weigh-in.... they are signed by each team, ref, and BDB... then the ref holds them overnight and gives them to the teams in the locker room....

what you are insinuating would be a huge conspiracy which just doesnt make sense ....especially when its now come out that Wach was on PED's:deal

Who's to say that the BDB official wasn't "in on it"? He could have been paid by Wach to "turn a blind eye". It seems to me that he also needs to be punished. Also could Wach accuse Vitali of tampering with the glove if the official said it was fine until he touched it?

I think the PED issue should be treated separately. If we make a judgment on moral grounds that a guy who uses PED's in more likely to tamper with gloves, that dosn't leave Vitali in a good place either.

    why would he?

also, you need to understand... the gloves are approved at weigh in and then held by the ref... they are then given to each team.... its not like Vitali was in the room the entire time Team Wach had the gloves... they had the gloves 20-30 minutes before they were laced up

Unless the ref was in on it... the gloves were fine until they were in the Wach locker room:deal

Any news from the BDB about the glove which was replaced?

Its been over 3 weeks & still no announcement, how hard can it be to tell if the glove was tampered with or just defective.

I'm assuming that the BDB official is suppose to check the gloves just before they are put on. Keep his eyes on them, sign them. Am I wrong?

Did he check the glove with the missing padding and say "that's fine". If Vitali had not checked it would Wach have worn those gloves?

The point I was trying to make is that because the BDB official was either incompetent or corrupt it has left an element of doubt. Who ****ed with the gloves and when? Official said they were fine until Vitali touched them.

I'm not accusing Vitali of tampering with the glove. I never believed that he did. As I mentioned in a previous post I did wonder whether the whole thing was BS when I first heard it. Unfortunately it was not.

There is an important question that needs to be answered by the authority's. Was the official corrupt?

CHEF I would like to know your opinion on that specific question?

What you have to understand is that its more that each team polices each other. The ref comes in and hands the gloves to each trainer. The BDB is in the room, but they do not handle the gloves...... each team has the gloves until its time to put them on at which time, each team notifies the other locker room that "our gloves will be put on in 10 minutes" or 5 minutes, whatever it is...

then a rep from the other team comes over, feels the gloves and if "OK" the team puts them on while the rep of the other team watches. Then they are laced up and taped, again while the other team watches at which point The BDB signs the tape all arund the glove.... DONE

something happened to those gloves from the time the ref gave the gloves to team Wach in the locker room until the time team Wach handed the gloves to Vitali to check them

Just like for me putting Wlads gloves on.... I handed the left glove to team Wach corner man. He felt them and said "fine"..I put the glove on and tied it... then I did the same thing for the right glove... then I tapped the gloves while team wach watched and the BDB signed

Once Vitali noticed an issue, he told the BDB and then they started to examine the gloves and agreed that "padding was missing"

NO, The official was not corrupt.. nor was vitali... vitali only handled the glove for 20 seconds IN FRONT of team Wach, and the BDB didnt handle the glove until AFTER vitali said something

and if wlad were to be killed in the ring that night and the tampering were to come to light then the BDB official would be complicit to manslaughter charges?

not to mention civil charges that would essentially bankrupt him?

sometimes i think that some of the people here are like 20 years old and have zero real-life experience.

some of the posts are borderline imbecile.

I love it how these keyboard warriors think they know more about this incident and how these situations are handled than someone who's been working closely with Wladimir for several years :rofl

Why didn't he take Growth Hormone, IGF-1 and EPO? If you're going to take steroids, why not take every performance enhancing drug known to man? Why didn't he snort cocaine before the bout? Why didn't he replace the bones in his fists with adamantium and shoot rainbows out his ass?

Fights should never go forward under those circumstances.

After that it's a bit hypocritical to talk about law or purses.

    i get that BUT......

If you cancel a fight last minute because 1 fighter trys to cheat that means the CLEAN fighter loses also..... no purse, bad publicity with a last minute cancelled fight....

IMO if its discovered early (like this glove was) let the fight continue so the fans and the clean fighter dont get punished and let the dirty fight deal with the consequences after the fight:good

In fairness here, did Vitali inspect the gloves during that initial time frame? There was a good article I can't find anymore about how the quality control on the gloves suck and it is not unusual for the gloves to come from the factory this way.
