I think we actually agree more than we disagree. There is nothing wrong with calling Mike Tyson, Aziz. There is also nothing wrong with calling him Tyson.

    The same with Clay/Ali.

I refer to him as Ali as often as I do as Clay. There is nothing wrong with either one of them.

ali was resting on the ropes like he started doing for the first time v bonavena (never happened in the 60s). frazier fought incredible that nite and so did ali who was out of the ring for 42 months. he was bound to tire in the later rounds and start resting on the ropes so early back after a long lay-off. he didn't need to rest on any ropes in the 60s when his legs were in peak condition.

I must be the only guy who didn't know Tyson had changed his name. I saw him interviewed the other day,and he was addressed as" Mike", he did not correct the interviewer ,or appear to object.
If I was introduced to him I would ask him what name he preferred to be called by, and refer to him accordingly , how hard is it?

You've trawled all my posts looking for a reference? How sad are you?

I didn't click on you were a troll like Pepe ,[who makes decent posts about anything not related to Ali,].

You unfortunately, never make a post worth ****, or at least I haven't seen them.
Maybe one day you will pleasantly surprise me?

No I spent about 3 minutes. It wasn't at all hard to find.

Did you also not know that "Mr Cream" preferred to be called Walcott?

I used it in an entirely different context as you know .You call Ali ,Clay because you have an agenda, that , your posts concerning him make blatantly clear. Why not be up front about it ?
It's called having the courage of your convictions.

I don't see a huge issue. I call him Ali myself but I don't think calling him clay is particularly malicious.

That being said I think he felt humbled after this fight. It showed him to be less than godly.

I'm not sure he ever trained as hard for a fight again.

I'd just like to take a moment to compliment Cobra on his use of the word "crotchety." Well played.

    :yep

I owe it all to you.

    Um...yeah.

I don't really want to be that guy, but...well...I'd like it if you guys would at least address me by my proper name. I don't think that it's too much to ask, you know?

I mean, The 'c' is clearly lower case and...well...in case you guys didn't notice, there is a 'the' in front of it. Easy mistake, and it's not a big deal or anything , no worries :lol:, really, don't even concern yourself with it :lol::lol:...it's just...I mean...

...what do you guys think I am, huh? Is this all a game to you?

You think I'm just any old "Cobra," is that it? Just some nobody?! You think this is a game?! MAYBE I OUGHTTA GET A STEAK KNIFE AND ETCH IT INTO YOUR MOTHER****IN' FOREHEADS! WOULD THAT SHOW YOU?! the cobra! HOW HARD IS THAT?! I AM the cobra AND YOU MISERABLE BUNCH OF TORTFEASORS WILL REFER TO ME AS SUCH FROM NOW ON!

That is, if you gentlemen would be so kind to do so...

After the fight was over and the decision announced, I kept waiting for Clay to start crawling over to Frazier's corner....... and see what the crowd was going to do then.

Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali years before the Frazier fight.

You didn't catch onto that after Ali convinced Ernie Terrell of the fact?
