Holmes was active when he fought Holyfield, of course he was fighting better at that point.

It is a solid win, but nothing more. It's not a great one, and tells us nothing about Tyson-Holmes prime for prime, or Tyson-Wladimir prime for prime

So Holmes was resting in his armchair before fighting Tyson? Dont be a fool..

Holmes was 1 point short of being the oldest HW champ in history against MaCall.

I think Tyson likely defeats Wlad, but he probably has to work hard to do it (think his fights with Tucker and Rudock). Wlad will be working hard to establish the jab and isn't likely to take too many chances, making it harder for Tyson to catch him clean. That said, Tyson's aggression would likely allow to carry most rounds en route to a clear decision.

    :lol::deal

Not sure if we're being trolled by dino, he can't think Holmes was anywhere near what he was when he fought Tyson. Even Mike agrees that Holmes was an old man, in his own words 'I didn't fight Larry Holmes'.

Larry Holmes prime was from '78-'82

Mike in his prime is pretty much unstoppable. I would however favor Lennox lewis and Ali against him.

Wladimir probably gets knocked out cold pretty fast.

I never said Mike fought the best version Holmes.

You're unable to to attain to the fact Holmes was an outstanding fighter who was still more than capable when he fought Mike as evident by what he went on to achieve.

Lummox Lewis? Lummox needed 8 rounds to beat the corpse of Tyson!

Prime Tyson no doubt kills Lummox.
    Ali beats Tyson I agree.

Holmes when he fought Tyson was contender level, nothing more. No better than the likes of Frank Bruno or Tony Tucker - he wasn't an outstanding fighter at that point. He was also inactive and ring rusted - anyone can see it, even Mike can see it and admits it, anyone except you for some reason? Tyson nuthggers are too much, the ones that claim Tyson could also beat the like of Ali and Holyfield prime for prime

Tyson was breaking jaws, cracking ribs, and dislodging intervertebral discs

Wlad's life would be in danger ... it would be like releasing a caged lion onto a helpless goat

    Wlad would never box again.

    Just watched Tyson - Tucker.

Anyone who thinks Tyson would blow Wlad away needs a reality check.

Yeah, I watched it too. Tyson out jabbed an excellent jabber and dominated the entire fight. Tucker landed some good shots and was competitive. He caught him with an uppercut but that was really the only damage he did to him. Wlad doesn't throw uppercuts.

Tucker is leagues better than Wlad, in terms of skill, ability and talent. His chin was iron, he had an excellent jab and very good power ... and he was athletic and mobile, not a robotic, lumbering glass jawed fraud like Wlad.

Watch Tyson vs Lou Savaresse if you want a preview of Tyson vs Wlad.

You are comparing Wladimir Klitschko (8 1/2 years without a loss, consensus champ, ring magazine champ, an ATG), to Lou Savaresse???
