No. I joined in March 2007. If you had been reading for well over 5 years, you'd have known that. Everyone else does. As I said, you're fairly new here. :hi:
Even though I have occasionally disagreed with you Boxalot,on several subjects I have found you to be a well-read and knowledgable poster,so I wouldn't like to see you being perceived incorrectly here. I think you realise that there are a small number of Bute fans who are as bad as the worst K2 fans when it comes to sensible posting and boxing knowledge. But there are some Bute fans who I really enjoy discussing this subject with and they are some of the most decent guys on the forum. Some I had a shaky start with but now there are several for whom I have a great deal of respect. It's not easy mate, but there are a few diamonds in the rough, even when it comes to discussing Bute. But as this thread and many others show, you'll have more chance of persuading Floyd Mayweather that money isn't important than you will of getting any sense from some of them.
Your joined date is one month different from mine. I might be relatively new here, but i've been following boxing for a long, long time and the hype surrounding Bute from his fans was up there with anything. It's a shame because i attended Bute vs Froch in person and the fans Bute took over were great. If the fans on here had their attitude then i imagine Bute would be alot more liked on here by those that aren;t direct fans of his.
Ohh for sure. As i said previously, some of the Bute fans on here are amonge the very best posters in the general forum imo. That said, the minority (and they are the minority, thankfully) kick and scream so loud that they overshadow the good work done by some of Bute's more level headed fans. As i mentioned earlier, i was at the Bute vs Froch fight and i spoke to a fair few of Bute's fans. They were a good laugh before the fight and full of respect for Froch even though they firmly believed their man would prevail. Even after the fight they just flat out admitted they'd called it wrong and they didn't have a bad word to say about Froch. Like Bute himself, their conduct was exemplery and they were a credit to him. It's just a shame that the odd few idiots ruin this good work and people tend to remember the negatives over the positives.
Ah, yes, the fool that doth protest too much... right on queue, Iago. You haven't fooled me to start off with and you're not fooling me now, buddy. You are much too transparent... need to try harder! :blurp
You can just take yourself right off my Xmas card list Mister! I even gave you a special mention in my post!:|
Look him up, he's telling the truth. He's the one who initiated that battleship thread back in '07. I've been reading a lot on here (as opposed to posting), and some posters with 2004 to 06 join dates can be as immature and/or ignorant as they come. Unluckily for me, up state NY hasn't seen anyone good make it up the boxing ranks in recent years so I'm unbiased by default. Bute isn't going to magically improve his ability to move around the ring quickly, those moments against the ropes in the Grachev fight are worrisome for any Bute fan. Froch might finish him late this time around, but I'm almost 100% he will finish him.
Do you agree with the general consensus that Johnny Cash's version of Hurt is the definitive recording of your song?
So you are upset we didn't go away when our fighter lost convincingly? What was so outrageous in the comment of a fan hoping that his boy would find a way to win and saying what he thinks is a possibility? The thing that you find that annoying alone makes you a hater of this boxer, or of his fans. I believe Bute had some small things going against him in Nottingham, not to take anything from Froch cuz I believe he would've won anyway. But not exactly that categorically. So I believe Bute has more than he showed in England. And will be happy to see him lose a competitive fight, for as long as it lasts than see him run away from Froch and fighting 2nd rated fighters. I believe he can win if all things are gonna be in his favor. I believe Bute can hit 1-2-3 punching combos, pivot and then move away, than repeat, and when Froch get's brave, meet him with a right hook, counter with the uppercut, sometimes use the left hook and left straight as well, all these with some power to stop Froch in his tracks only for a split of a sec, just enough time to get of the proximity of the ropes and then move agains and 1-2-3 punch combo. etc. And also durring that fast powerful counters might do some damage, if Froch is to active and to wild.
After Froch's effort against Andre Ward, Froch began to change his hand position for greater economy of motion (not withdrawing his hand before extending forward). He is becoming harder to read, which is a boon for a fighter with so much world class experience already under his belt. Butte has power, experience and something to prove. However, Froch seems to have an exceptional ability to absorb punishment. If Butte can not rely on his power to fend off Carl, what can be his back up strategy?
At least you're not on Mr.Tragic's lvl of hate who in the Grachev fight RBR thread was going : 'Hahahahah Bute is getting outboxed by Smeagol" And in other thread before the fight was like " I don't really hate Bute "
I have to point out that I genuinely don't think Magic hates Bute BB. That may come as a surprise to you but if you were able to look at this a bit more objectively(and I totally understand and appreciate why you can't) you might realise that the real object of Magic's ire on the subject isn't actually Lucien.
I've never seen another poster enjoying himself that disgracefully when a boxer didn't looked spectacular in a fight he should've won easily.
