Arrelano is walking into the southpaw jab, trying to move his head around it, and getting drilled by the left cross. Magdaleno bounces around and flashes his right jab, darting in and out. Whipping underhand left by Magdaleno from outside, backing Arrelano up to the ropes and leaving him reeling out of position for a sweeping uppercut combo. Again Arrelano gets to his feet, but Magdaleno jumps on him. Big left hands by Magdaleno, straight down the middle and to the body.

Round 7

Magdaleno is zapping Arrelano with high-climbing lefts behind the right jab. Arrelano keeps drifting backwards, out of the way, letting his back rest against the ropes and trying to catch Magdaleno with uppercuts as he's darting in. Decent exchange toward the end of the round with Magdaleno digging in and throwing a head combo while Arrelano pumps both arms back out at him from the corner.

Round 8

Arrelano catches a few Magdaleno right jabs on the left glove, then suddenly turns over a reaching left hook. Magdaleno eases down and out of its way, head tilted. 1-2 up top by Magdaleno, blocked but pushing Arrelano to the ropes. Chopping jab by Arrelano coming forward again. Magdaleno lifts a few right jabs from the hip, getting picked off. Arrelano is dropping side to side, keeping his goal posts up and just defending. Whipping double left to the temple by Magdaleno lunging in. Arrelano has a minute to pull something out here. Arrelano paws with the jab, and lets Magdaleno slap at his arm with a soaring hook from a crouch. Arrelano is coming forward, but without much intensity. Magdaleno unloads some jabs and gets Arrelano circles into a corner. Arrelano ties up. Lead right by Arrelano, brushing the top of Magdaleno's head. Magdaleno hops around and whips overhand with his left, doubling and tripling up. Nice exchange of body shots before the bell as Magdaleno traps Arrelano on the ropes.
