Nah, on undercard of Dodson-Mighty Mouse.

Bob Digi; Gil' has no chance in UFC 155lb division anyway, so he needs to come up with something.

I don't know, but it seems like a bunch of bull**** to me. I'm not part of a team, so forgive, but I believe he is being pressured into this.

The man hasn't made the FW Limit in 5 years, and to cut is ****ing foolish. I'd rather have him firing on all cylinders than be less of a fighter! Ross Pearson and Kenny Florian found this out the hard way, when will the rest of The Mixed Martial Arts World take note?

I agree that weight cutting can drastically alter a whole fighters career negatively, but the champ' is a big cutter himself and Gil' will not rise to the top at 155 IMO.

    It's worth a shot.

Ive been saying for 2 years Melendez is a FW

His body fat percentage is too high, and yes as long as the weight comes off the right way he'll be a force there

I personally think Aldo will fight @55 in 2013 though

I think you're right on most accounts there Win; but would like to think he might stay at 145 'til the end of the year, this could be a big fight. Still, would want Gil' to take on another top contender before so might not work out anyway what with his injuries.

That's right; I don't think he's good enough to walk into a title shot.

If Frankie does somehow beat Aldo, problem solved. 145 is wide open again and we have more time to play with.

If he beats Edgar in Jose Aldo fashion and decides the cut is too harsh and moves up, he'll probably be granted Henderson/Diaz and rightly so!

If Frankie beats him, and IMHO its not that big of an IF then like you say, wide open!

I do believe Gil Melendez is a FW and this is based purely on his body fat percentage come fight night, that said he walks around pretty big im told (170+ something like that?) so it could be a lengthy process withering down that frame, and he probably wont be at his best during his first outing at 45, or maybe he will and my suspicion is right, he's a class fighter, very skilled and strategically so smart and crafty, he's a world class fighter! it will be good to see him in what i believe is his true weight class against the best in the world :deal

    :good

Melendez and Henderson is the fight I've been wanting to see for a while now.

I've posted it before. I don't care if Henderson is champion or not. I wouldn't have cared whether or not Melendez defeated Healy. I just want to see these guys go at it.
