Getting robbed of a win on a technicality after dominating the opponent deserves the rematch.

By "technicality" you mean being punched in the face until he look like he had been mauled by a bear?

Boxing has rules to prevent somebody from winning by injuring opponent using illegal actions. Boxing is also too corrupt to follow its own rules. Luckily, in case of Vitali vs Lewis, the rematch was ordered and Vitali ended up getting the belt.

You might actually be worse than the other guy.

    That's seriously poor trolling.

He butted/scraped him and opened a small cut. He was lucky the OH R that followed immediately after was landed before the ref could determined the cut to be STARTED by a rub.

Look, Lewis did a job on that side of Vitalis face once the cut was mistakenly ruled to have been caused by a punch, but had the cut been correctly ruled to have been started by a scrape of the course, tight cornrows, the ref owuld have sent it to the cards.

Dr Moret later claimed he missed the butt.

**** happens, but in hindsight, the TRUE AND CORRECT result is

A list of common fouls that may be committed by boxers (or seconds,
where the context is appropriate) that may be cause for penalty or
    disqualification is as follows:

    - Low blows (being a line encircling the body at the level of the navel).
    - Use of elbows, shoulders or forearms.
    - Butting with the head.
    - Hitting in the back of the head (rabbit punch).
    - Striking the kidneys or back.
    - Hitting with the inside of the glove (slapping).
    - Hitting with the back of the hand.
    - Striking with the knees, feet or any part of the legs.
    - Holding the ring ropes to hit with the other hand.
    - Hitting the opponent when part of his body is out of the ropes.
    - Hitting an opponent when he is down or getting up from the canvas.
    - Leaving the neutral corner and striking the opponent before the referee’s instructions.
    - Excessive holding the opponent or maintaining a clinch.
    - Striking after the referee’s order to “break” or “stop”.
    - Stepping on the opponent.
    - Holding the opponent’s head or body with one hand while hitting with the other.
    - Using the open hand to position or rub the glove on the opponent’s
    face.
    - Thumbing the opponent’s eyes.
    - Striking after the bell.
    - Crouching the body below the opponent’s belt defensively or to
    strike.
    - Biting or spitting on the opponent.
    - Abusing an official or using abusive or profane language.
    - Throwing objects.
    - Failing to obey the referee’s commands.
    - Turning one’s back on and walking or running away from the other boxer.
    - Spitting out the mouthpiece.
    - Cutting or mutilating the gloves.
    - Any rough tactics other than clean punches.
    - During a round, a boxer’s seconds entering the ring or stepping on the ring apron.

Nice post, but you forgot to highlight butting and elbowing/forearming.....all of which contributed to the swelling prior to the butt opening the small cut prior to the OH R which opened a sinkhole in Vitalis face.:deal

I'm not disputing Vitali lost. It was a legitimate TKO caused by cuts! Fair and sqaure that's boxing. Fluke cut as in rare and in a spot that will bleed alot and caused by Lewis's punches. Don't you think a rematch at the time would have been huge? As I remember, after Lewis promised Vitali the rematch, he held out for a long time before retiring. Think watching the destruction of Kirk Johnson may have been the deciding factor IMO.

I would love to see Haye vs Vitali. I don't think David deserves a shot, I'd just like to see 42-year-old Vitali batter him around for 12 rnds (I'd bet Vitali by UD) :bbb:good
