They're talking about Markussen as a possible stepping stone for either DeGale or Groves. (making no mention of the fact that DeGale is currently in action live on rival network Channel 5)

Don't think so... Zuniga was down in one Round I believe it was the 3rd, haven't see it. The commentators were saying he got hurt a couple of times after that but he is very tenacious, and from what I saw he is still trying and doesn't give up, tough Degale wins most of the rounds. Was leading in R9 with 5 rounds difference.Zuniga has a good work-rate.

Fluff piece dedicated to Magee. After this, we should get ring walks.

Magee did in the other two Danes (Larsen & Markussen) with body shots.

Kessler has always been vulnerable to body shots, even from relatively light hitters.

I have no intention of using the Kessler-is-shot card if he loses, because he's not. He's not as good as he used to be but he's still one of the top fighters in his division. If Magee beats him then he deserves the credit for it and wont deserve to have the win discredited by people saying Kessler's no good anymore.

If Magee wins he become a legitimate opponent for Froch or Abraham or Bute, but not Ward even though he'd be Ward's mandatory. I wouldn't put any money whatsoever on him winning against them but the unlikelihood of him winning wouldn't render his legitimacy obsolete.

Which is my position with this fight. Magee is a legitimate opponent for Kessler. He's not likely to win but he's not a bum, he's not just been put before Kessler as a sacrifical offering. But not being likely to win doesn't mean he has no chance whatsoever so simply writing him off against the diminished Kessler is something I would never be comfortable doing.

Is it on par with Aquinity's piece on Joan Guzman?

I forgot Calzaghe was set to fight Magee a few years back.

It was canceled the day of the weigh-in because the WBO threatened to strip Calzaghe.

Why did the WBO threaten to strip Calzaghe if he fought Magee?
