Either Pac's chin is gone or Marquez is now a superhuman puncher

Morales and Barrera were granite chinned... Look at Morales now no bodies are knocking him out and down.

 

Wrong. Never has Pac taken those same shots from JMM. He's taken clean right hands, yes, but not like that. JMM is a lot bigger than he was in the first two fights. That right hand that KO'd pac would have done the same to most of the division. Learn something and you won't be so confused by this.

 

perfect punch caused by an over aggressive pac who had been getting hit alot in a fight where both guys were fighting like they did in 2004. difference is 1, marquez landed a punch pac didnt see 2x, 2 pac went down from a "foot stomp," and 3 marquez actually now has 2 more kos than pacquiao so the stigma of this powerpunching monster people put on pac is under question and bring on the steroid talk cuz i know folks are gonna want to bring it up.

 

I don't recognize either extreme to be the case here.

It was just an incredible punch that was assisted by Pac leaning into it.

Yea, he was careless in that round as well. Though if I were him and I saw Marquez vulnerable I would of probably done the same especially in that heat of the moment. Rushed in and didn't even see the punch. Nevertheless it was a dam good fight.:bbb

 

I think as a fighter trains less and fights less, his resistance is lowered. This is worse than Roy Jones getting knocked out by Tarver. Pacquiao was more well liked than Jones globally. We probably haven't seen something like this since Louis vs. Marciano. A hero to many just getting so devastatingly knocked out. At least with Louis he was far past his best.

 

1. JMM trained for power.

2. Pacquiao was coming forward recklessly and walked straight into the KO punch, effectively increasing it's power.

3. JMM was definitely throwing with more bad intention and more recklessly than the third fight, as he said he was going to.

4. JMM's KO% was slightly better than Pacquiao's, even before this fight. He's always had power, just didn't utilise it tactically against Pacquiao before because of the risk.

5. Pacquiao's age and/or training may have contributed.



Combine those 5 points, and you have that outcome.

 

He jumped in face first, jmm planted his feet and nailed a BIG right straight in. Not got a PhD in physics but that velocity tells me its gonna hurt.

 

I think it is safe to say that at the end of the day Pacquiao got Hatton'd by Marquez. Two of the best fighters to grace the squared circle and what a finish to their rivalry.

 

That would be a good explanation if Pac hadnt been hit with the same punches and bigger punches before and took them no problem. I think it's mostly wear and tear/age .

 

Best fight of the quadrilogy, IMO.

And even as a Pac fan, I have no reservations in saying so.

 

Psychologically.

Marquez has NEVER AVOIDED ANY KIND OF TESTING. Pacquiao has.

Wasn't it just a matter of time though? Aggressive brawlers are always one fight away from getting KOed. Pac was just on a crazy win streak. It had to end at some point. Pac came into this 4th fight thinking Juan can't hurt him. Juan has always been a solid puncher. And that's all it takes to KO ANYONE if you throw a punch correctly at the right moment. This is why defense is so underrated and so under-appreciated.
